Title says it all. We have a mutant out there that has no idea on what it is to be a mutant and now lives in a world where only Bucky Cap is a trusted confidant. Should Steve reach out to young Thomas Raymond and put him in Cyclops's care?
It could be interesting to get a character with militaristic views to join and be a good member on the field. I don't know the character myself that well, but I love the flame powers that are kinda lacking on Utopia (no Sunfire or Firestar youknow, but I guess Magma fills the role). Plus it gets Namor someone to talk to besides Emma, Cyke and Mags. what say you posters?

Awww... I was soooo hoping you meant Toro from the Young Allies (who is awesome) :frown:

I would rather Cyclops took Match under his wing, since he has flame powers, and is already on Utopia.

Toro a mutant?

Oh. I forgot about Match. Seems that the lesser known youngsters are getting phased out unfortunately.
Isn't Toro really old by now? He fought in WWII.

Nah, he actually died and was brought back by BuckyCap at the same age or younger than BuckyCap is. I would think hes in his mid twenties. Around Rogue and Iceman's ages.

Toro could teach the X-Men a thing or two since he was a mutant when there hardly were any. I wouldn't really want to see Toro get caught up in X-Men crap though.

Not really... but as with all "young generation" X-men, AFTER their comic is over, they don't instantly jump to the front ranks... they make guest appearances of some importance (Dust in Age of X, Indra in X-men: Legacy, Hellion and Surge in X-force, Hellion in X-23)... it's only the really lucky ones who jump into a major comic after their own ends (Pixie in Uncanny X-men, Elixir in X-force, X-23 in X-force and now X-23). The New X-men kids get some attention, just not "main cast member" attention. In time, fingers crossed. Just look at Loa? Not a big player in New X-men, now a main cast member in Namor: the First Mutant. YEY!
this isn't about the Young Allies character? either way I'd pass. plenty of X-characters already like Match that can be used. speaking of Young Allies, I wouldn't mind a Firestar appearance occasionally.

That is what I was thinking of.

No, I honestly think children should stay away from the X-Men if they want to live.

I don't think this has actually been explained. But Toro originally survived WWII and married Ann Raymond and may even have had kids. He lived until the 1969, when he died in an issue of the Sub-Mariner, a mature middle aged guy. So, mentally, he should be much older than his revived body. But again, I'm not sure this has been addressed. And of course, the sliding timeline makes a mess of his appearance in the 60s.

Two with the name "Human Torch", Toro, and the recently defeated Inhuman Torch.

Ahhh Yes. This would at least help Iceman shed all the "Iceman is gay" mess people come up with!

If Steve Rogers is smart, he'll do his best to keep Toro away from Cyclops and Utopia. Too much drama and too much secret, shadiness going on. Plus, if Steve lets Cyke take Toro under his wing, he's essentially letting Emma take Toro under her wing.
Plus, I like Toro too much.

has the "Toro" nickname ever been explained, really?
