Lol, And I can't wait to see the artist bashing of the great Juan Bobillo. His stuff is very original looking, and highly Spanish comic book artist stylized, just like David LaFuente's stuff. Bobillo is highly underrated as a comic book artist.

Lol, I'd rather have all of them than Beast, Brand, and Colossus. Mike Carey is giving us a good, fresh team though.

Lol, Bubble head Kitty is the worse of the bunch. And it's only because of her 1960's moon man costume.

I'm not too crazy about Brand, but she fits with the theme I guess.

Good X-Men team, good creative team. Should be fun.

YAY im happy, the team looks good. i got storm back, with kitty and agent brand. and the best part is i can just buy GAGE ASTONISHING X-MEN, i don't need to get the other because there pretty much standalone teams and storyline.

i said this over on the ororo/storm thread -- i won't be reading astonishing in the forseeable future...

i've never like any brood story arc...

I am really interested by this team, espacially as it's written by Gage and drawn by Bobillo. I do love his style very much.

I'm buying it for the Jason Pearson art alone. Jason is one of the top 5 artists Marvel has working for them right now. And Jason's story is not the Brood story, he is the artist for Way's Monster Island story.

Man people sure do like to piss and moan. It hasn't even come out yet and you got people already calling for it's cancelation, and saying it "sux".

It's got Storm in a leadership role again. Colossus, Brand, and Beast (back in the X-fold). Count me in. I look forward to it.

Well, I have some questions about how this is going to work from a publishing stand point, but this team really feels like a breath of fresh air. No "big three." If Havok had been thrown into this team, it would be almost perfect.

I would like to see Havok on that team too. That would be fun.

Fun team, and I understand the logic of making two teams so Astonishing doesn't know the delays of Whedon and Ellis...

But it really seems the same as X-men, now... I don't think both books will coexist at the same time.

Positives:
+No Wolverine
+No Cyclops
+No Emma

(Those 3 are everywhere already)

Id love this book t outsell Ways thus proving to Marvel that the fans do vote with their wallet. It was also go to show how little a draw Emmna, Scott and Logan are when it comes to the x-team books.

Christos Gage is an amazingly fun writer who gets the Marvel charaters and the Marvel Universe and that comes across in his interviews.

Love the lineup. Love that Beast is with the X-Men again. This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.

Aside from the upcoming Monstrous arc, Beast never left the Astonishing lineup

It will be interesting to see how many people actually view this as a positive. My guess is less than the number who view it as a negative with sales figures reflective of that. But it's no skin off my back. I haven't really cared much for Astonishing X-men since the Whedon/Cassaday run.

This fairly exciting. I enjoy Gage more than Way. It is interesting that they are continuing to use all characters who've been apart of Astonishing but split them into smaller teams. When it was just Way on the titles with the overexposed 3 I questioned the point of the title. But I still say this and Adjectiveless should be rolled into Uncanny with a 3x a month release.

I'm in since i do enjoy Gage's Marvel work and that he does RESPECT the characters and their previous histories, unlike some of the OTHER MARVEL WRITERS.:frown:

Which other Marvel writers come to mind?

The writers that I feel do respect a character and their history besides Gage:

Dan Slott
Mike Carey
Fred Vanlente

It's small, but between those four, I feel that it's better that they wrote some of the comics, like Dan's doing for Spider-man, than what we have now. with Fraction and Way.

People like Kieron Gillen, tend to vary given that he's new, and Brubaker, Parker, and Bendis Varies given the material they works with. :frown:

PAD's like oldschool in the 80s and 90s and Loeb's...ugh...is a don't ask moment.

Still I speak of the writers that we have now. i don't know about the writers we have of the past given that they created some of the elements that we see today.:frown:

bobillo did mekanix, right? i thought his stuff was pretty good back then.

this book has taken a complete nose dive in terms of purpose, though. the once "stand-alone x-book for top creators and casual fans" is now more or less filler stories featuring different creative teams & different characters. this is what x-men (2nd series) should be, in my mind. cancel axm & x-men (3rd series) and have one other x-men core series besides uncanny featuring rotating stuff. makes more sense to me.

Despite the boring roster, I love how Gage talked about them. It seems that each of them (except Piotr) have roles to fulfill. I just hope that, like AA and Whedon's and Way's AXM, Gage turns this into a character centric arc.

Pixie_Solanas

I'd rather just read about Kitty and Lockheed's adventures in single spinsterdom. Jettison the excess weight (esp. that p.o.s. Brand).

I will buy nonetheless. I like Christos.

True. His art is almost on the same level as Quitely's.

I'm effin excited for this. The fact that a book like this hasn't happened for years is SAD. And I agree with the vote with your wallet idea.

The truth is, I can't stand Daniel Way because, in addition to writing the terrible Wolverine: Origins, he stated in an interview that all you have to do to tell a story is "get high and start writing shit". And he was serious.

I like the creative team enough to overlook the mostly terrible cast. I hope Lockheed doesn't stay on Kitty's tip for the long run.
