View Full Version : X-Man Appreciation

Nate Grey is a biological weapon.
He was grown on an alternate Earth from the genetic materials of Jean Grey, and Scoot Summers. He was developed to be the most powerful combat telekine in the world. Any World.
His world died in nuclear conflagration. Nate Grey was at ground zero when this first wave of missiles detonated. Flashpoint-
- and then he stood in a different light. On our Earth.
The most freighting psychic talent ever known, blasted clear of a dying universe, on an Earth he barely recognizes…..

I read the 4 issues of the Age of Apocalypse storyline, and I'm trying to get my hands on the whole series on eBay. I'm really intrigued by the prospect of having a character who is essentially God as the protagonist.

now back in nw mutans 25 I would like to see Legion in combat with all his might to know who is more powerful and finally finally found his sister Rachel.
Now that X-Force will be the Age of Apocalypse 10 years after the 2005 miniseries would be interesting to participate or at least to be appointed as the Meet Logan and Jean Grey of the Aoa should ask for her Son and that conose their existence (we found in x-man 4),

He better watch himself then threnody, maddie and thren's baby are going to come back to bite him. especially the baby. being a crappy dad never works out for x-men especially if u have a son.

You know, there's an older, more frequented appreciations thread for Nate.

What is it specifically about Nate Grey that you dislike?
I liked him at the outset, as the guy whose powers would kill him by the time he was 21. But then, when they brought him to the main MU and struggled to find something to do with him, his story became really convoluted and uninvolving, and that simple premise was lost, and he became just another generic do-anything X-Man. Which, given his name, is appropriate I suppose.
I understand your response to the Nate Grey question. I read his series up through issue 20-ish, plus the Hulk Annual. I can honestly say those were good stories though, so perhaps he lost his thunder after that at some point?
It's one of the problems with a premise that has a built-in end point--eventually you get there. And in X-Man's case, they never really replaced it with anything all that wonderful.
