Wow, I'm impressed with Huat's work this time; I was hoping it wouldn't look too wierd as usual. Looking good. Exciting.

Well, The Annihilators part of the book looks as dreadful as expected. Only Cosmo is worth reading it for. And meh, what a Sausage Fest.
I have never cared much for the boring big league cosmic folks, that's why the GotG book was so awesome. It gave lesser characters a spotlight.
Wish the Rocket Raccoon/Groot Mini hadn't been stapled to this. But it looks great so far. So I'll have to deal with it.

Yeah, I don't know why Marvel thought it'd be a good thing to mash 'em together. They are different tones.

I don't think you could put two more different in tone books together. Fortunately for me, I'm eagerly awaiting both.
Loving the Green art.

Thanks for saying so. I was going to say the same thing, only with more expletives mixed in
They managed to make Ronan and Gladiator look utterly stupid in just 2 short pages

I will never get over how silly a robot with a sex is. Never.
And yeah, I hope the Annihilators part will be better than what it appears from this preview.

Huh, I thought Annhiliators was an ongoing. Is it down to mini, now?
(So, what this means is we might get the same amount of issues of Quasar, Silver Surfer, and Beta Ray Bill on the same team as we did *last time*.)

Always was planned to be a 4 issue miniseries. Hence why they stapled the Rocket Raccoon//Groot mini to it.

I am not happy with the art at all. I have no idea why this artist was chosen for this series. Was he the only artist left.
I believe I will enjoy the story. However, Ronan was made to look like a fool, already. The hero challenge seems a bit juvenile.

I've never really fully enjoyed DnA's Ronan, Simon Furman and Keith Giffen did a lot more with him to elevate him as a really cool character. Most of the time now he's taking a back seat to most other characters and doesn't have that same authoritative take-no-crap voice that he had in Annihilation. Perhaps the Crystal marriage has tamed him that much but I wished he was more in the fore-front.

Cant wait for this. And Timothy Green's art is fantastic. Rocket Racoon wearing a tie. How cool is that!!!

Huat's artwork has definitely looked better; his Doom Patrol was really good. I don't know if it's the inker or what, but this isn't all that great.
What's more disconcerting to me, though, is the story we are shown in the opening pages. "We'll demonstrate just how tough our new heroine is by having her defeat all of our powerhouses in individual combat." DnA are much better than this, usually. I guess I'll have to chalk it up to them needing to get to their story in a limited space, and having to condense what would- I hope- otherwise be a more organic demonstration of Ikon's abilities.
I'll still be picking this up, though. It's cosmic, plus I'm curious where the Groot and Rocket backup is going. Is Rocket under cover, or is he really so desperate that he's reduced to being a mailman nowadays?

DnA sold me on the opening because I can't stand Gladiator or Ronan, either, lol!
Rocket and Groot looks awesome!
Can't wait for that.

I'll buy it but I really wish they hadn't priced it at $4.99 as no one who isn't already a cosmic fan is going to spend that much on this and as such Cosmic Marvel will continue to wither away.

To be fair, it does have two complete books in it.
In fact, the Rocket Raccoon/Groot story has more pages than Annihilators does.
we NEED new GotG and Nova ongoings back already. this should be fun in the mean time.

No doubt it will be better too. Cooler characters, certainly.
Complaints about art in a cosmic book, shocker.

Beast, I love ya.....
BUT YOU READ ...WHAT.....5 PAGES?????????????? Oy. Something tells me you've already made up your mind instead of letting the work speak for itself.
Come at me after Wednesday. Then let me know how bad it sucked (after you've bought it, of course!) ;)
*ahem*
I thought it was interesting that they literally started the book like it was the next page after the Epilogue. Either way, a nice way of summarizing who we have and showing off the new character.
The funny thing was I wasn't thrilled with Rocket/Groot's thing. Although I'm sure it will be good for me, I thought that was quite a bit odd to having Rocket hold down a "regular job" after threatening Thanos with never-ending life.
Ah well. Maybe they'll "Scud" him, office/business wise. That'd be great!

Quick question here: Was it explained in-story somewhere WHY the GOTG disbanded? Or are to understand no ongoing series, no team?
I thought there were enough of them left alive after the last story line for them to continue: Cosmo, Astro, Jack Flag, Gamora and Mantis along with Groot and Rocky. Was there an issue or something where Rocky and Groot quit?
I could see the survivors not being able to run jack without Rocky-so if he quit that'd explain everything.

Might have been stated in the Devastation Epilogue that the others just drifted apart without Quill holding them together. Plus Quill told Cosmo to go build a more powerful team. Gamora might have mostly been around because of Warlock anyway.

As awesome as Rocket ALWAYS is, him wearing a tie just kinda fits somehow. He's all kindsa awesome.

I don't need to read much more. I wasn't happy from the start of GotG being replaced by the Cosmic Heavy Hitters.
GotG was awesome because it gave all these quirky characters some love and time to shine. And told fun stories.
I don't find any of the big cosmic heroes all that interesting as characters. So it's a buzzkill.

I'm hoping Nova comes back after the Annihilators series. I mean, the thing is only four issues long. It seems that DnA is alluding to how a team of heavy hitter (too many Alpha males who want to lead) may not work as well as a more diverse team. We could possibly get a Nova and Guardians after Annihilators - possibly with Nova as part of the team OR a combo book, like Annihilators.
