Its been almost a year since Nathan Christopher Summers aka Cable died to save X-Force back at the end of Second Coming. And after his sacrifice the important people in his life: his old man Cyclops and his daughter Hope buried him and mourned him.
But what about Wade Wilson aka Deadpool aka The Merc with the Mouth, Cable heterosexual life partner? Well in Deadpool and Cable #26 by Duane Swierczynski, Deadpool mourns the loss of his brother in arms.
The plan: go to Rumikistan, Cable's Eastern European country, build a Cable themed amusement park and have a tribute concert featuring Lady Gaga.
Well once Deadpool gets to Rumikistan he tries to talk to the locals about Cable. Little does Deadpool realize he's about 450 miles south of the Rumikistan he wants to be in.
Regardless after getting captured by the government, escaping imprisonment, getting drunk, singing "Dust in the Wind" and more flashbacks then Deadpool has pouches Deadpool decides he's going to become Cable-pool and liberate Rumikistan. Which he does and there was much rejoicing and rocking out to Lady Gaga.
My Review: It might a tad bit early in the year to say this but if there is one Deadpool title you get this year...this one is it. Duane writes the best Deadpool, with Rick Remender being a close second, at Marvel currently. If you like Cable, or Deadpool or Cable & Deadpool...go out and buy this book.

Does the interior art resmeble the exterior art. Cause the cover was awsome.

While I imagine it loses a bit of luster when you've read all the stories they mention--seems a bit too much like recap--it was all greatly entertaining to me.
The best panel out of the comics I read this week was the first time he claims he can speak Rumikistanian.
I forgot to buy this. Is this good? Would you liken it to Duane S.'s last issue of Deadpool & Cable?

Yeah. Also the narrator box saying he's in the wrong country was lulz worthy as well

Yes very enjoyable. Loved the narration and the segues into all the flashbacks. I always loved their bizarre friendship and glad Wade's reaction got some special attention.

This has been my most anticipated Deadpool book for a while now. After Deadpool and Cable 25 and Deadpool Origins, Duane was one of my fave Deadpool writers. But then this was released, I read it, and frowned. All those cheesey internal voice jokes and just overall lackluster.
It seems the Deadpool readers of today just want goofiness and stupidity out of deadpool. I much prefer the witty and clever Deadpool. And for christ sake wont the voices just go away? There was only one in this and that could have been okay, but it was aware of things Deadpool wasn't. Why can't Deadpool be like he was in the good ol' day? He was intelligent, clever, witty, and had a "stupid" sense of humor... but not cheesey stupid.
The highlights of this issue for me were: 1) opening the cover while expecting a joyful and entertaining ten minutes; and 2) (SPOILER) When Deadpool begins to engage in combat while dressed as Cable. That got a man giggle from me.

I gave up on Corps and gave this a try but frowned for the same reasons too. That 'extra' inner voice is very annoying addition to classic DP. Is it at all possible that the entire advetnure was just an adventure in his mind too??
There was an added highlight line, for me, when Cable made that comment about duct tape. Curious if it was verbatim to the previous story or to give credit to Swierczynski for that one.
Speaking of curious, was Wade channelling the entertaining Mark Walton as Rhino from Bolt in that one panel? Great movie, vague homage.

Nice issue. They really need to bring Cable back and put him in both Uncanny X-Force (forget Deathlok; boring) as well as Deadpool's book making it Cable & Deadpool again.
Just found these images online:

I'm a little confused by the title and numbering. Is this supposed to be like a second volume of "Cable and Deadpool", with the title changed to reflect Wade's popularity of Wolverinian proportions? Or is it a retitling of Cable's latest series, which I lost track of?

It's a retitling of Cables old series.
Best part of this issue for me? The very last scene when we find out it was all in Wade's imagination and he is standing there all depressed at Nate's grave. Pretty touching.

Agreed. I haven't liked Deadpool since Joe Kelly stopped writing his solo series. I remember a day when Deadpool was actually a "mercenary with a mouth" and not just a "mouth" and nothing more. He has devolved from a twisted, sick, witty, sell-out assassin for hire, to a flippin' Looney Tune. His comics are nothing but slap-stick humor, and the stories are a just a little deeper than newspaper comic strips.

That's why the only Deadpool book i read these days is MAX. Daniel Way's series is just... atrocious.

Thanks for clearing it up. I wasn't sure if it was a joke like "Deadpool Teamup 900" or the other Deadpool titles. I really liked Swierczy's Cable so I'll pick it up next time I head to the LCS

Yeah, that was my favourite part too. I like it whenever we see that aspect of him, especially now when writers tend to go overboard with the goofiness instead of focusing on evolving his character like in Cable & Deadpool for instance.
While this issue took it's time getting released I'm glad that it did get out even if parts of it was a bit too silly. Entertaining overall, but I feel that his friendship with Cable could've been explored further in this issue.
Although I do think I preferred his reaction to Cable's death back in C&D.
