He's one of the most intelligent villains in the Marvel Universe, he's fought maybe more heroes than anyone else (from Spidey & the X-Men to the Thing, Northstar, Dazzler & Captain Britain to even Hercules, Johnny Blaze & the Micronauts) and been a fairly constant threat (with a fairly consistant wardrobe) since the mid-1970's.

Let's hear thoughts about - see pics of - and pay homage to Arcade!

I appreciate his relooking. Seems more serial-killery.

Back in the day when the big mystery as to who Pixie's dad was was floating around I assumed it was Arcade for some reason. The idea of Pixie being revealed as a living toy seemed plausible, interesting, would explain her visual, and would force the X-men to keep dealing with AI as a burgeoning community used for entertainment or servitude like Danger.

I still like to think that Arcade has offspring out there. As to who? That's debateable. Any hypothetical ideas?

I love Arcade. His gimmickry is so classic DC Comics. It's what makes him stand out at Marvel. He's not just a guy with powers and a costume, he's a guy who plays on a theme.

You may find it odd but Arcade is one of my favorite villains of marvel Universe. There's just in him that I really wanted. The first time i saw him was in a trading card and somehow caught my attention especially that the intelligence level stated: 7.

I also believe that he is one of the most intelligent villains too. Whenever I imagine about creating my own line-up of x-men, he is a hero. He created an own mansion for the new team. Of course, the whole mansion can fly and even through outer space, cos well, Arcade is a super-genius and can do anything he want in a piece of metal.",)

When i got my Giant-sized X-men graphic novel, i got to know him more in Rogue Storm issue to be more specific. And i really like the games he made for each of the x-men.

I really hope he comes back.

I miss Arcade.

He started out as cheesy dark humor, a wannabe version of DC's Prankster or Toyman almost... but the dark turn he was given in that Gambit/Wolverine miniseries, and what PAD did with him in X-Factor... Arcade has awesome potential as a super creepy assassin/serial killer.

It's one of my favourite non mutant villain that cross road with X-men.I believe X-men need more villains outside of humans-mutants coexistance.

Is it just me or is Arcade a g-rated comic book version of Saw? Can we safely say say Claremont and Byrne invented Saw 25 years before it actually came out?

A woman was burned alive, screaming all the way in that X-Factor story two years back, he murdered his own assistant with his bare hands, and he hooked a bomb detonator to the heart of one of the Purifiers so that when he died, so did everyone living in Mutant Town.

He's not "G" rated, from where I'm sitting.

when did Wil E Coyote first appear? he had some pretty elaborate deathtraps. and his win ratio wasn't any worse than Arcade's.

I don't like any of these. It's like they (PAD?) wanted to turn him into the MU Joker or some b.s.

I'd credit this to a bad haircut. Perfectly understandable for him to get all serial killery after that.....

She's a 'droid now, although it's not always treated as such. Guess we can credit Arcade for having built a PERFECT replica of her.

Also - I know it was (probably) part of a big gatefold poster, but was Arcade's inclusion on the variant cover of DAKEN: DARK WOLVERINE #1 odd to anyone else?

Daken, 3 genocidal monsters (though Magneto's ok these days apparently), 2 larger-than-life thugs.....and Arcade?!?

I didn't read those issues unfortunately. It's good to know that he finally actually killed someone though. He's improving!

There's still pay for play with Arcade, or revenge, motivating him. Joker's just bats*** crazy. Arcade came off way more methodical, calm, and scary in those stories. No giggling, cackling madman moments.

I actually like Arcade better when he's played a bit on the lighter side. There are plenty of darker villians, Arcade's villiany can be played lighter (despite being an assassin and all).

Marvel needs to bring back Arcade out of the joke bin and into some serious story lines. He's a genious level assassin, and he's human. Mutants don't need a beyond omega level Norse God to freaking battle all the time. Sometimes street level plots play out waaaaaay better than intergalactic nonsense that has been worn to threads...

Here's an idea, make a mystery series using the xmen and special guests that involves arcade as a surprise ending didnt see it coming villain like the ******* in Hush (DC).

The dark turn he took in the '90s (with WOLVERINE/GAMBIT: VICTIMS) was a novel idea, and lingered for a while.....but then they just abandoned it and he went back to normal. I guess no one really cared to carry that on and resumed with his more gimmickry nature.

Just remembered I made this thread a couple years ago, and figured - now that Arcade is a kid-manipulating possibly superpowered possibly kid killing bastard now - it would be very appropriate to revive it and laugh hysterically at the woes of the kid hero fans.

My wife gave me a Kindle Fire recently and I've been goofing around with reading comics on it. Got Uncanny X-Men 129 and Ultimate X-Men 21 and they read nicely.

I sort of dig Arcade in a big way (though only really read his Uncanny and Excalibur issues) and am thinking of starting by collectings Arcade's appearances.

Probably start with the Wolverine/Gambit stuff from what I've read in this thread. Glad there are other Arcade fans out there.
