Personally I don't rate the WW2 series at all but love the 70s, What's your favourite?

Season 2 has the highest count of my favorite episodes. HOWEVER--I'm quite fond of Season 1, and consider that a tie! I loved the camp and period drama of the 1st season. Between the guest stars, themes, narrative captions, opening credits cartoon, and Lynda (naturally), Season 1 hit all the right marks for capturing the essence of Wonder Woman! Especially Marston's vision!

Season 3 was often dreadfully boring. Formicida & Gault's Brain aside, I often found that season unwatchable. It tried to take itself more seriously & move away from the source material--and turned its back on what had made the series work.

the WWII stuff for me, its more watchable now than the 70's stuff. It seems a lot less dated.

Ironic that WW2 seems less dated. I'm no fan of the camp, I watched WW first as a little girl and took it all deadly seriously. For me Judgement from Outer Space 1&2 are the only essential eps from season 1 with most of my favourites from the last 2. Interestingly when I ran this poll on the DC comics site I was the only one to prefer the 70s eps

I liked how fun the WWII season was. There were alot of whimsical and comical moments that resonated with the Golden Age Wonder Woman. It's not historically accurate of course, but you get a feeling of the 40's setting, and the seriousness of the Nazi threat is there but it's mostly downplayed.

The 70's episodes do seem dated watching them now.. Maybe it's the hairstyles, or the clothing. Or the situations (hypnotic disco... Robot dog helper..) or the 70's jive-speak from certain characters.

Lynda was a real godsend; she made every episode watchable, due to her natural charisma and warmth.. Something the actress playing the character needs to have even more than looks (although Lynda was gorgeous!)

Oh absolutely. the show lived and died on Lynda's delectable shoulders. It's interesting that the 70s looks dated because that's recent history whilst the 40s doesn't because it's long enough ago to seem like a different world. I like the 70s better, you still have fun in eps like the one where she attends the sci-fi convention but the more serious tone is welcome

I think Season Two has some really strong story ideas - the idea of Diana being immortal and coming back thirty years later...the notion of her working for a government agency, but not the army...the near-rediscovery of Paradise Island...the continual Nazi presence...

...but they seemed eager to move away from what had been previously established too quickly. The start of Season Two is very interesting and enjoyable, but after the first three or four episodes, it just gets random.

I think the series could have definitely kept up it's level of quality (such as it was) if they'd progressed Diana's relationship with Steve Trevor near the end of Season Two, and maybe thrown in The Cheetah in Season Three instead of silly bug woman. Steve and Diana's relationship was so key at the start of the series, so for them to totally abandon the idea of that playing out is very strange. I wonder why the producers did that...

And, of course, bring back the Amazons maybe two or three more times would have really helped flesh them out a bit more, regardless of what was done with them.

For consistency, the fun-fact, the villains and the overall construction, Season One wins out, easily.

maybe thrown in The Cheetah in Season Three

That wouldve been awesome! I wonder why they didn't try to use some of the comic book villains, like Cheetah, Circe, Silver Swan, Drs. Poison/ Psycho/ Cyber, Duke of Deception, or Angle Man? Those would have been do-able for the level of special effects of the time. Although I wonder what kind of plot the Cheetah episode would have.

Circe wasn't a villain that was used alot until post-Crisis. It would have been cool though to have seen Steve Trevor's villainous alter-ego, Captain Wonder, in the show.

I remember being disappointed when they shifted to the 70's. For a start, it pretty much killed the whole Steve/Diana romance thing. I mean having a relationship with the son of the guy you had a thing for? Ew! Audiences were never going to buy into that.

Some of the scripts were very good in Season 2 - I did very much like The Man Who Made Volcanoes. But the first season seemed to have more holding it all together. Better costume in 2 and 3, but not enough to make a difference.

Season 3 - I bought it a little while ago for $16 but would not pay more for it. Episodes like "Hot Wheels", "Skateboard Whiz" and "Disco Devils" just left me cold.

You mean Dack Rambo as "Andros", who was ALL kinds of Sexy over Tom Tresser!

Yeah, guys not really my thing but Dack is Prince Charming handsome, I'd be his fhag any day. John Saxon, good actor but doesn't really do much for me, like Roddy McDowell better as Harry Roberts in The Fine Art of Crime where he gets to be a bit more flamboyant.

I'm intrigued, what was the image on Tangentman's post that got deleted?

I'm guessing we are talking Season 2, and not the first showing of Andros. Sexy Doctor Huer aint, to my eye anyway.

But Andros is stiff, and not in a good way. ;) Diana needs somebody a little bit bad to contrast with her. Maybe someone more like...

I don't know, he strikes me as a little smarmy. If there's one guy WW is attracted to it has to be Andros

Forget about Hedison (whom I have always liked as an actor), Lynda is so dreamy in that scan. Yummy!

As for the poll, I voted for the WWII episodes. I recall more of the plots for that season than the other two. Besides, Leif Garrett didn't show up in any of them!

Lynda's always yummy! Must say I'd no idea who Lief Garrett was, maybe he wasn't famous outside the US? A clear win for the for the Wold War 2 stories although I wonder if that would be the same for the general public rather than just the dedicated comic fans? I'd suspect not

No doubt about that! She just seemed even more so in that photo.

Garrett was a big teen idol during the late '70s, though I'm not sure about his status outside the US.
