I picked this up the other day and I haven't seen a discussion on here.
It says its for Feb '11, however in the comic Nightwing is still around. Bruce is Batman and Drake is Robin.
I am not sure how I feel about this 2 parter. I'd like to see what other people think as well.

This story has potential. The art is distracting for me. I just don't care for the style. I thought the first issue was pretty good.

My thoughts exactly! good story, but the art does need some adjusting too.

I looked at the art and thought it was pretty bad too. I had two thoughts about it
1. Man this looks 90s as $@&!
2. Plastic.

I hated the art. I don't have anything against cartoony style (I love Ed McGuinness' work after all), the problem is that this is 90's cartoony style with exaggerated poses, wacky expressions, anime influences and impossible haircuts.
Please don't make me remember the art from that era again.

The art was a bit distracting but i'm interested in the story. When is this suppose to have taken place? I'm assuming this is an in-continuity story?

the art was average, the story is really good, is more a robin story than a batman story but it have a lot of potential

That's why I wanted to pick it up. I'm more into Tim, but the art is really off.

Does this tie in to Gotham Central? I ask because it had a story arc with the same plot but from GCPD's POV.

I remember that story line, but I pretty sure this doesn't tie in with that.

Even though I've never read that story before, I'm pretty sure it does. Both Montoya and Allen show up in the first issue; so I'm assuming it's the same case or at least around the same time period.

I stand corrected. I do remember Montoya on the case in this issue. Sorry:redface:

There doesn't actually appear to be any correlation between the Gotham Central story, there is no mention of it, and it wasn't the same case, the similar story of the impostor Robins in GCPD was told and didn't include the events of this story.
The first dead "Robin" in Gotham Central was named Roger Baumbach and the second was named Benjamin Scott, neither were runaways or mentioned in this story, and more importantly, the culprit behind the "Dead Robins" of the arc's title was revealed and caught, and it had nothing to do with the impostor Batman and his army of Robin replacements. The "Robin Killer" as he is dubbed by the press in the story's conclusion was a reporter in Gotham who'd kidnapped, murdered and helped break the news story of the fake Robins.
The fact that it takes place in the same era doesn't mean the stories tie together and at this point despite some cosmetic similarities, they seem to be entirely different.

Ok I thought I was the only one who didn't appreciate the anime styling.
I am a little confused by whats going on the comic. Is the batman that is training the orphans an imposter? Because on DC's website the synopsis states "Tim and Batman must solve the murder of an impostor Robin and follow the trail of someone putting together a new team of teenaged sidekicks made up of kids who've been promised that they'll become the new Robin…IF they survive!"
Which sounds like the Batman that is training them is indeed an imposter. I am intrigued to see how this finishes.

no, the impostor batman is training them and he seems to have some kind of connection with scarecrow too

And, it seems more like they are training to get killed than to become Robin. The "Batman" seems to not really care if they survive.

That's dissapointing, the idea of remaking a Gotham Central arc from Batman's POV interested me. I may still check it though.
