Fitz, your recent rate of producing art is incredible. You're not talking colored though, are you? That would be.... also incredible. Can't wait to see the stuff.

Fully painted (digitally) my friend. After a slow start I became possessed.

The jam sketch was a 4 (roundabouts) diversion so I didn't get bogged down. You can tell because the Goon's fist is really badly drawn.

Hey Caddy Cad Man.
I just want to get it done, and make people happy.

Well, I haven't posted a lot concerning the "project" because it probably gets annoying to have people e-poking you and asking if it's done yet.

I am excited to see the finished results though and am glad to hear it is almost done.

Okay e-poking probably isn't the best terminology.

Well my Die Hard Friend from across the pond..
your recent fury is great....sort of.
I have a 1.75 pages to go before I am done...blah, and right now I am tied into a comitment with a deadline...2 pages left to go there.
They are due Sept. 15th, so worst case scenerio, is that I will take the full time to get those in and can get the final prts of ASoH done by the 25th.

I think I will have a pencil in my hand for most of Monday (US Labor Day)

Athena

Thanks for the tickle, JT.
Fitz: The new shoes weren't even a question. They will be mine.
ICBM: I still love you, but not as much as when you're Kevin. Even though you don't say anything for aaaaaaages, and then when you do, it's annoying. Why am I surprised?

Hmmm... seems the tickle came from me. Oh, well. :(

Sir D? You did read that the Canadian lass had revisions? Yes?
Bet that we may be looking at a little more time. So. Take Monday
off. Be with yer luved ones and then start fresh. :)

icbm? Since Fitz is one of the few people that answers my postings
and doesn't have me on an ignore list, I don't see a problem with
banter on his thread. 'Sides, it's mostly on topic and doesn't break
any of the "Tips Rules". Plus, Fitz (and Athena) have a sense of
humor and do know when I'm kidding. ;)

Fitz? Jack "King" Kirby's ghost says, "Booga, booga." and he'll be seeing
you tonight. :D

A picture of my little sister. Ain't she cute?

I for one enjoy hugging Otto on a regular basis, although he does get rather frisky before his afternoon nap.
Looking forward to Jack popping round

JT, you must be the libido of the board.

Oh, the top right zombie on the 'jam' was supposed to be Tad. Bad I know but I did it from meory.

The pencil in hand for Monday is for the comitment I have due mid sept
It's all pencil and fully rendered..so it takes a while and I have 2 left to do, then scan & letter them.

Thanks for the vacation, but trust me..compared with the 9-5, drawing is a vacation

Tad, sorry for making your monkey angry, sure there's a 'spank' joke in there somewhere.

Otto, your sister is very attractive, room for another 'spank' joke?

EL, the position of board pimp is a high honour. And lucrative.

You look splendid in that shirt! Nice carving photo too. btw did you see any good Gaudi buildings over there?

Athena
09-05-2004, 05:08 AM
Morna: We certainly did! I went into the Gaudi museum, which with 5 floors, all stairs and no air con, was a bit of a trail, but it was worth it. I'll try and get Fitz to post the photos I took inside and outside the house.

ICBM: The dragon thing if I remember rightly, was on the outside of a coffee shop. Just sittin' there. Fitz spotted it, and made me take the 'photo.

Otto: I love ya. I'm sorry I got the tickles mixed up!

Big Kisses to ma peeps.

How the hell did I miss that awesome jam?! It's you guys and all yer jabberin' -- I tend to skip pages figuring that they're filled up with your witty repartee and then I see this mention of a "jam". Page back... well, I'll be.

That's a great Goon and some lovely zombie smashing. The popped eyeball just sets the whole thing off. Can't wait to see it inked and coloured.

Otto66

Fitz-Athena? Hush. The lack of nicotine has made you both cranky.
To take yer mind off of it, you may want to post some more pictures.

Seeing Fitz in the Hellboy shirt shows the lad has good taste in clothes.
And the "George and Dragon".... wouldn't that be a relief if is on a
building and made of plaster? Still nice shot.

Once I'm done with my emails, I get to work on the tweeking.

(SUBLIMINAL MESSAGE ENDED)

hello peeples.
i will post some more pictures from barcelona when i know how to use the scanner.
Otto: the dragon thing was carved from stone. The shops on the main street (Passieg De Gracia) are all set back into the buildings, as many of them are very old, in order to preserve the look of the street, yet supply the Barcalonians with quality coffee, chocolate brownies (Barca style) ice cream and tapas. The people are friendly, but EVERYONE smokes!!!! Small children in their prams are toking away on Embassy Superkings. And my cat appears to have dandruff. ? .

Did you check the site I mentioned? The surface is limited.
Maybe I need to go to PM to make my point.

Petersen? Thanks. Its always been my fav too. Figure that the
stories we've been working on, lo these many months, stem from
that pinup.

Athena? Sorry about the cat. Do they make cat-shampoo for that?

Otto, PM replied to

Petersen, glad you like that pic (and you have the original) How's the art going?

Petersen
09-07-2004, 01:52 PM
I knew that pin-up of Fitz's was the original catalyst...that is one of the reasons I suggested it...It's also finished, and a personal (I and I believe board-wide) Fave.

I have not touched the ASoH in a bit. As mentioned before I have anotehr commitment that I am rushing on. Starting to not like what I have done for it..toying with (or what was the magic word?....'pondering'!) the idea of re-doing it...or lightboxing what I have and inking instead of the pencil renderings.

The holiday was not kind to me in terms of getting anything accomplished, but ratehr spent time with family..and for some reason (on what is the unofficial last day of summer) had a picnic indoors!??!?!?!? Mother-in-laws..wheeew..

Otto66
09-07-2004, 09:59 PM
Fitz? Yer PM reply was just nuts. Maybe this was a bad idea.

Petersen? Marry the girl, marry the family. Best praise yer mother-in-law
for raising the woman you married. The sooner you start bonding with
yer mother-in-law, the easier your life will be. That, or get some pictures
of her while shes drunk. :D

Fitz? Just saw page0. WOW! Ya gotta be happy with that one. Guess
all that whinning was just a big waste of energy.

Petersen

Otto: I knew I was marring the family. I love that family! Very happy to have been welcomed in as well as I have. Beautiful folks with good hearts...No problems with the Mother-in-law either..just funny to have a picnic to celebrate the last day of summer...inside.

Glad you like page 0. I'm so close to finishing, altough Athena hates the cars with a passion. To the point where she was shouting from the bath "The cars are shite, the cars are shite" for a good twenty minutes last night.

Thanks on the Avatar, for those who haven't seen the pages, everybody, it's a tease.

Dude? If I paid $400 (my board won't make the lbs. symbol)

JohnThompson

When are you doing art again?
When is Athena going to send pictures of herself?

More properly, I am "doing art" all the time, and have had an incredibly busy last few weeks at work. Lots of late hours and weekends doing mundane advertising stuff.

Or, if I misunderstood your question to mean "shut up", I'd rather you just tell me outright. I've had a long history of people asking when they're going to see more art when they just really want me to go away.

fitzroy
09-08-2004, 09:51 AM
I'll ask her.

I want to see your art, I'm a big fan. Anything you can show would be appreciated.

If I wanted you to go, I'd say. Silly rabbit.

Athena
09-08-2004, 10:47 AM
At the current exchange rate, Darla has cost us... mmmm (adds up) £1=$1.70 ish, x100 $170, x4 = $680.
And she needs a check up on Friday, which will probably cost us another £30.
JT: I'll send one when Fitz takes one.
Hope you all had a good day..

OOOOh! At work today, I had to rescue a baby bunny and take it to the vets. It's eyes were swollen shut, so we managed to shoo it into a box and take it to the same place Darla was at (wildlife gets treated for free). Unfortunately, it had myximatosis, so they had to put it down, so can we have a moment of silence for Flopsy, please.

Thank You.

Mmm.... hold me in your big, strong man-arms! They're all warm and salty, with a beer-like musk!
"Donny Darko"? So last century. Move on.
Go see "Hero".
Actually, "Darko" was a 2001 release, that got almost totally overshadowed in the aftermath of 9/11. Made under 1 million at the box office, was considered a cinematic flop, only to rise to cult classic status. Director's Cut is being re-released in theaters now, hence it's topical again.

No money, no sitter, so "Hero" will have to wait for rental. :(

Otto66

No money, no sitter, so "Hero" will have to wait for rental. :(
Rob a gas station, kidnap a sitter. You need to see this in
a theatre. The sweep of the camera and variety of colour cannot
be captured on a TV screen. No DVD will ever do it justice.
I seldom recommend a movie as highly as I do this one.

Otto66
09-08-2004, 04:11 PM
Fitz? Yer buddy Lucas has lost his mind. Again.

"As fans of the trilogy know, in the original 1977 version Solo is the one that shoots first, killing Greedo before the green-skinned Rodian manages to get off a shot. In the 1997 Special Edition version of A NEW HOPE, Greedo is the one that tries to shoot Solo first but the alien's shot misses his target even though he's firing at point blank range. Solo shoots his blaster after Greedo's shot misses him and kills Greedo.

Now Lucas has tweaked with the scene for the third time, perhaps in an attempt to appease vocal fans that disliked the changes made to the film in its 1997 version. According to the newspaper, the scene in the DVD version of the film now shows both Solo and Greedo exchanging blaster fire at the same time."

Found on the cinescape site.

icbm1987
09-08-2004, 04:20 PM
bah...

the original is best...

The man who made the kessel run in under 6 parsecs deserves to kill Greedo before he even unholsters his blaster.

Seems as if I shall check this "Hero" out...

Why were we talking about rabbits again?

*thinks of Kroenen in bunny suit...*

Patriacce, be as nosey as you want. It's cool that you are interested.
If I knew what he was talking about I'd do same as Petersen. I'll ask my web guy.

Lucas is soooo out of touch. I won't be buying the DVD set. He could have released two sets, one tweaked and the original. I thought he was always about the money. Strange.

Damn, Fitz! I just had a long "So, you wanted to own your own business" kind of day and didn't even check out my mail when I got home. Now I've had a bath and a glass of wine and I've opened your package. Hokey Smokes! That The Jam drawing is even better in real life than it is on your posts. Still gotta love the popping eyeball. Your pencils are incredibly clean. I sketch mostly as an aid to my design process and my sketches are full of multiple lines made as I explore where to define edges. I can hardly believe that you gave me bonus material as well. Your pencil of the graffiti dude is so awesome. Is the Happy Face/Skull t-shirt a real thing or something you thought up? I really, really like the print of upside down Hellboy hanging from the grip of Colossus. You just wait. Things may arrive in your post box unexpected like.

Sir Edward, Glad you got them and like them. The TShirt is a version of a smiley from years ago. Hey Ose. Morrison usually does great stories, and Quitely is a superb artist (IMO). There's strangeness and a great deal of humour in there. I hope you get it soon and that you aren't disappointed.

Thought it was time I put up a pic, so here's a quick sketch, like it, so I'll probably ink or paint this one. :D

fitzroy
09-22-2004, 05:21 AM
Thanks, the lunch time sketches turned into playing Unreal over the LAN at work or working on the LoJo strip. This one is a 'got bogged down with the work I was doing, so took five minutes out to do a sketch' sketch.

Hmmm... Lojo looks a bit more muscular in this version... or it may just be the perspective...

UT is fun... you get to play at work?

Hey, it's Kevin.

It's a perspective thing, but it is just a sketch, just in case there's anything else 'off'

Yep, play Unreal at lunch

Nice sketch, dude. You make very effective use of your spare minutes. When you're not playing Unreal. :D

WOW! What a cool sketch. You should do a fan-fic. :D

Final dialogue and cover statement complete. Emailing them
to you this evening, "Bruce". ;)

David? Sending you copies also.

And, I went back to page 22-23 of this thread cause I
forgot the title. Its "Unfinished Business".

Playing video games on the web? Travis didn't start doing that until
he got famous. Maybe that explains why he's so late with all of his
assignments. Nose to the grind stone, bub. Athena needs a new hat. :D

Think we could see an end to our project by OCT 15?

Petersen?

If it's released on a Wed. It would be the 13th or 20th.
Speaking stricktly for myself, I think I can be done by either of those.

Either date works for me also.

Tad's HBJr long-form spectacular will definitely be done by then too, because the art's just about done and it just up to me to fine up the dialogue a little. They could all come out on the same day and it would be like a trip to the Comic Book Shoppe and everything is free! :D

Hopefully JNapper will read this (one of us should also PM her) and we can arrange for a closed thread posting. Apologies to who suggested it (I can't remember) it would be great to have the art on one thread, with no reply posts, and an open thread for thoughts and gushing appreciation for the artists. The writers are all hacks and shouldn't have their egos inflated by any plaudits. :D

If you post it on the 21st, it will be the bestest birthday present you've ever given me. Just a hint, pooky-pantses.;)

Either that, or give Fitz his beating on the 21st.... :D

fitzroy

Otto, a beating would be most welcome, maybe you could use me as a toast rack aswell.

Always best to add sardonic comments when doing a proper

Petersen? Sad little fella just sits in a corner. Won't eat, won't change his
clothes just ranting, "Tweak, tweak. Just one more tweak. Tweak. Will
that woman ever be done with her tweaks. Tweak." :D
