We all know that DC has re-shuffled the deck as Jim Lee and Dan Didio was bounced up as was Geoff Johns. Then we had Harras get the EIC title that hadn't been filled in years. So lately Eddie Berganzia became Executive editor .

Anyhow where does this leave Vertigo ? What is gonna happen to the line ? I heard talks we could see some Vertigo characters appearing in the DCU and all. Will the line fold back into DC and become a Mature Labels line of DCU ?

Or will it stay the same as usual ?

Didn't they came out with that a while ago, that all of the DCU characters are going back to the DCU?
Because Swamp Thing, the Endless, John Constantine, Mme. Xanadu, they're not really Vertigo characters, are they?

All I have heard are rumors. I do not think Vertigo is going anywhere or changing. However, I really wish Vertigo would give Swamp Thing back to DC.

Karen Berger has mentioned at conventions that with the exception of Hellblazer, Vertigo's new mandate is strictly creator-owned titles. To tell the truth, since the end of The Un-Men, that's all they've been publishing anyway.

I would liked to see a revamped Swamp Thing, more in the mold of the original comics.

(I nominate Swamp Thing for Justice Leaguer Status in 2011!)

Have you read Moore's crossover with Superman?

I haven't read Moore's Swamp Thing work....yet. I like the Len Wein & Berni Wrightson era. And I really enjoy the live-action films.

Moore's work on Swamp Thing is excellent, and should be read by anyone. Book 1-5 has nothing but sheer class, and not one weak chapter.

They have been talking about this for a while now, the new thing is the shared characters are back in the DCU except for Constantine, maybe the House of Mystery characters too as I think that is still going.

Really all the best Vertigo books have been creator owned anyways, so there is no change. Fanboys get their continuity related characters, and Vertigo keeps on pumping out great comics. Everyone wins.

Outside the DCU characters being taken back by the main publishing arm, and some editorial shuffling, I don't foresee any radical changes. Vertigo, I think, is too big of a presence and importance in the market to just fold it into a 'Mature Rating' for DC's main publishing arm. I know people got a little paranoid about that with that happened to WS, but I just don't see Vertigo in that situation.

Yeah, I was reading that like in the 3rd grade, the ones I could get my hands on of course. I wasn't buying frequently, but I thought it was "fun" to read.

I've been wanting Swampy in the JLA for years now. Not long-term though. more as some kind of mental breakdown.

This. Well, they're losing DCU folks like Swamp Thing and Madame Xanadu and others (but not John Constantine: Hellblazer), but as the DC banner is changing and promoting and consuming other banners, Vertigo is business as usual.

I'd be interested to see them maybe take on these low-tier non-DCU books (like THUNDER Agents, the First Wave/Red Circle stuff, and maybe even Milestone) so as to keep it alive longer than it would under the DCU umbrella - though even there, they'll get more life than a Marvel books with those sales would get...
