Thanos Imperative #6 Preview

There's a preview (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=6891&disp=table) with a couple of pages here at CBR, and... is that what I think it is on Mar-Vell's hand in this panel?

But then it's gone in the next panels completely. Weird.

And it does disappear later. Must just be an artist's homage or something. It did get my attention, though. For a minute I thought it was going to be the Cancerverse's version of the Infinity Gauntlet. (Living Tribunal missed this reality- whoops! :biggrin:)

As long as the GotG continues, I don't care if the other races are obliterated! How come Star Lord and Rocket panels are stretched on the first page?

Based on that preview, and the anticipation of 'what-will-Thanos-do-next', it's probably my favorite, as well. This is gonna be interesting.

You know, I did notice that, but completely passed it over (because of the Infinity Gauntlet thing) until you mentioned it. Cool.

Makes sense, because Shuma-Gorath is the barely disguised Cthulhu analogue in the MU. Wonder if he's the big, big bad behind it, or it's just words?

Mar-Vell has Nega-Bands- not the Quantum Bands.
Nega Bands are Kree science and there have been several sets made, whereas The Quantum Bands are one pair per universe and draw limitless power from Infinity (which we can assume is corrupted by the Many Angled Ones in the Cancerverse).

I think that YES, that is the cancerverse Infinity Gauntlet- remade as a sword and used to kill Death in their universe- what else could do such a thing?

I wonder of Thanos might manipulate their Infinity Gauntlet, even with it shaped like a sword and stuck into him? Adam Warlock manipulated the IG while it was on Thanos' hand- by his intimacy with the Infinity Gems.
Thanos sure knows those gems better than anyone else so...

Got to say, this art has realy REALLY become great- I was no fan back when issue #1 came out, but this is really great stuff- the body language of Mar-Vell, the amazing splash page with the many-angled ones....really a great suprise.

Being a big fan of Lovercraft and his works, I have to say TI has been pretty awesome. I'll be a tad disappointed however if Thanos ends up killing the Many Angled Ones somehow... because as we all know, no power in the Omniverse is greater than the Outer Gods and their many incarnations.

Ya know, I think tying Thanos Imperative and Chaos War would make a pretty cool WHAT IF.

If both the Chaos King and Marvel were invading at the same time and just kind of bumped into each other. It would be neat to see what would happen.

I think Nova is going to save the day, and maybe crispy-critter himself from all the power he uses. I'm hoping we see Rich use more power than he ever has before. And if he fries his body, he can heal, but it will take some time. We saw this in Conquest, except he healed faster than he normally would because he was infected by the technarchy.

I can see Starlord sticking around his friend, keeping watching him while he heals. I think it would be cool if Starlord got his old powers back to help in this fight.

Sad thing for me - my days off have been changed for next week. So I will not be able to drive to my comic shop until Friday. A number of you have heard that my comic shop is 80+ miles away. It would closed before I got there.

I thought much the same- it seemed a way to get rid of Adam quickly (as Guardians is cancelled and that storyline would not be resolved) and to bring Mar-Vell to the forefront.

There's a 3.75" Mar-Vell figure from Marvel Universe coming out for the holidays that I cant wait to convert into the cancerverse version!
Hmmm...I bet I could make a cancerverse Captain America easily enough too!
