Hi All!!:

I was one of the fortunate to attend, The DC Universe online Fan Event at NYCC a few weeks ago, and was able to get a beta key to test the game out before it launches. I must say that this is a fun game, that everyone should buy!!

After installing the game (which was an overnight process) It opens up with the cinematic trailer that weall know and love, after that we get into character Creation.

After picking your gender, you pick your body type out of 3 choices:

Big: which is like a Solomon Grundy/ Old school Giganta from SuperFriends body type

Medium: Normal hero body type

Small: Teen Hero body type

After that you can go into custom mode where you pick everything individually:

Morality Type: Hero Or Villain after this is chosen you pick your mentor
Mentor Heroes: Superman Batman Wonder Woman
Mentor Villain : Lex Joker Circe

Movement : 3 Choices: Flight, Acrobatics, SuperSpeed
Personality: Various
Weapons: Various
Power Types: Various
Costume options and final color choices

Or you can go into Inspired By mode where everything is chosen for you and all you have to basically is pick a name for your character.

For me once I was done the story opens up in Brainiac's ship where you have to fight your way through to escape, you even get to team up with Superman in a short battle at the end of that particular level.

After that the game truly begins. I ended up in Metropolis' Chinatown where my quests are given to me by both Oracle and Wonder Woman ( Diana is voiced by Gina Torres who does an excellent Job) Just like WOW ( World Of Warcraft) There are quest chains that lead to boss fights, and so far I've Battled gains Faust and his minions, a Trigon possessed Raven and the Titans ( Donna, Nightwing, Starfire, and Cyborg). right now I'm in the middle of a quest where I'm going up against both Giganta and Circe.

After you reach Level 9 you get an invitation to the Watchtower where you can walk around and explore, the immensely huge structure ( Stormwind from WOW can fit in the watchtower!!) All-in-all the game is so much fun, of course it being beta there are quite a few bugs, but those aside, the game is worth playing and buying when it comes out!!

Ummm...

I'm pretty sure there's an NDA you agree to when you sign up for Beta?

(Not trying to be bitchy - just don't want to see you somehow lose your account!)

A lot of this has already been shown by gaming sites and even playthroughs IGN has actually done that they were allowed to post. I think they were doing it for a charity event. The quest details might be new.

However I would remove your character's name all the same to be on the safe side.

I admit I haven't been looking at what's been released. I've been on the beta test crew for a number of games and have always just found it safer to say nothing ;)

Always the best policy. :)

Hoping I get in as well. I have the PlayStation 3 version pre-ordered and sent in my receipt for the beta. Also signed up on the website a few months ago for both the PC and PS3 versions. Beta tested other games as far back as Anarchy Online but still have heard nothing yet. Though not going to dwell on it to much. Well trying not to anyway.

BlackTornado, what you said is interesting but, even if the zones look impressive (according to what I saw on YouTube), I still feel my favorite online game 'City of Heroes' cannot be beaten when we talk about customize ourselves stuff such as looks, bases and missions. When you're a role player/storyteller like I am I believe COH/V is still the place to be.

One question : What can "Personality" do in the gameplay exactly?

Frank: so far Personality hasn't come into play , it's mainly how your character poses as he/she is idle.

Nice base. Heraclea is my character, also inspired very much by Wonder Woman:

and my base is of similar inspiration:

On what server are you on? My toons + base are in Triumph but I got one toon in Virtue. I wish to meet you in that game.

This is for an upcoming role playing plot:

I could come up with more screenshots of my base because it's a very big one but this isn't the place here for that.

Again, I hadn't bothered reading - I've beta tested several games before this and just assumed an NDA for closed beta.
