I put Superman.

Superman in terms of natural speed, he's had more time to absorb solar energy than Sodam Yat and I think he's just plain faster than Captain Marvel, though Captain Marvel can beat him up due to the magic weakness. However, Superman is limited to the speed of light at his absolute top speed, and Sodam Yat can use his ring to travel through hyperspace. But that doesn't really count, since it's not natural speed.

i think it's been established that Kara is faster than Superman, but out of those three...hmm, idk, supes or cap

I think the Superman/Captain Marvel: First Thunder comic implied that Superman was naturally just a little big faster than Captain Marvel. On basis of solar absorbtion, I'd say Supes probably has the advantage over Sodam as well. If Sodam went at his top speed and then used the ring to just push him a bit more though, he might well be faster. In fariness, thinking that a Daxamite with a power ring is slower than a Kryptonian without a power ring would be a little silly. Still, on natural speed without rings, Superman takes it, just.

Superman has demonstrated he can fly at least 10,000X the speed of light in outer space based on the time it would take to travel to other galaxies and come back to earth. as for Sodom Yat, Superboy Prime said it best he a Superman lite with a power ring.

I'm not a Ross fan, but as a Cap fan, that was pretty satisfying.

Doesn't Superman generally use a rocket for interstellar travel? He did in the Brainiac storyline, which was relatively recent... but then again he also chased Superboy-Prime all the way to Rao in not too much time in Infinite Crisis. So... not really sure.

The problem with that is how do Hermes and Mercury match up? As WW has the full speed of Hermes. I always thought Hermes and mercury should be the same, and if so then WW and Captain Marvel should have the same speed limitations, and WW is not as fast as the flash or superman.

Sodam; GLs can warp.

Cap has the speed of Mercury and a little Zeus boost!
Obviously, OBVIOUSLY, Cap is the fastest one here. Why? He wears red.

A lot of people, creators included seem to forget that Cap's gift from Zeus is power. He should be able to amp when necessary.

I always assumed that the power of Zeus was his trademark control of lightning, not the ability to amp up his other abilities.

Problem with comparing speed is, that most of the really fast characters are as fast as the needs of the story and popularity. Kind of like strength or who can beat who.

Superman is the faster one, as it has been repeatedly pointed out in continuity, both through actions and statements.
Eclipso Superman, for example, has directly said that he can rain hell on Metropolis in the blink of "even your eyes" to Captain Marvel in Lightning Strikes Twice. In First Thunder, the guy following Superman and Captain Marvel has also pointed out the former is faster.
Then there's the races with the original Flash, Jay. Black Adam was clearly shown to be inferior to him, and he is supposed to be equal to Captain Marvel, while Superman was racing him on even grounds in DC 1st: Superman/Flash.
That scene from Alex Ross is non-canon, and everybody knows he is a major Captain Marvel fanboy anyway.

Actually, the power of Zeus is whatever the hell the story needs him to do at a given time. Captain Marvel was never a character in the Golden Age so much as a plot device. Most of the stories revolved around Billy, and Cap was just the deus ex machina for resolving the story.
As Parker and Binder and Beck put it, because he's a creature of magic, he can do whatever the story requires. That's the power of Zeus. One time, he walked through a wall. Using the power of Zeus. Like, he just figured out how to do it.
Man, those stories were awesome.

Goddam, do I agree.

"My God! Sivana has me here creating evil robot duplicates of himself with his new element SIVANIUM! But that doesn't mean I can't creat a robot duplicate of myself! THERE! Now, while he takes care of business, I'll synthesize a new element called MARVELIUM!"
AWESOME.
