DCU's blog The Source (http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2010/10/08/nycc-2010-meet-your-new-supergirl-creative-team/) revealed the new creative team as being Nick Spencer and Bernard Chang! I'm really looking forward to Bernard's art, but dont really know much about Nick's writing outside of the first installment of the Jimmy Olsen back up. Guess I'll find out better in January!

This Nick Spencer guy is getting around a bit. DC must have a lot of faith in him.

That or he's cheaper than a fan favourite/highly acclaimed writer.

Why on earth would DC do this?
I was looking forward to a year of crossover free Supergirl stories, and we barely get six months worth. There was still plenty of stories for Gates & Igle to tell that I believe was sidetracked by the New Krypton saga. This new team have some pretty big shoes to fill. :evilangry:

Wasn't Supergirl Sterling Gates first title? I don't think he has reached "fan favourite/highly acclaimed writer" status yet, though I did like what he did and am sorry to see him go. I thought he and Igle were putting out a nice book.

I haven't had a chance to read any interviews, why the switch in creative team? What will Igle and Gates be doing next?

This seems arbitrary. Why change out a good creative team?

I will give these new guys a chance but, on the surface at least, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of logic in this change.

It was his first ongoing but how many times do you hit that luck?

Looks like desperation in the light of falling sales, and DC blinks again. Back to the era of inconsistency and too many guest stars to 'save' Super-Cipher.

Looks like I'm gonna start buying Supergirl at issue #60.

'Aye, curious to see what Igle's next project is.

Mixed on this news. Gates & Igle were strong on this book, and the only thing consistently good about New Krypton. On the other hand, if Spencer can deliver like he did on that co-feature, I'm not worried. And Bernard Chang's art looks good.

I hope Gates moves up to higher profile books.

Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed, to be honest.

I'll give the new guys a chance, but they do indeed have big shoes to fill.

Never read anything by Spencer but I heard good things about his work so I'll probably be checking this out. I really wish Igle was still on art though, no offense to Chang, who's also pretty good.
