Tru Calling, a great show in my opinion, has officially been cancelled. There's a site at SupportTruCalling.com that's trying to get the show back on tv, at least the second season if not several more seasons. By the way, one way I think they mention to support the show was to buy season 1 of Tru Calling on DVD.

It's over.

I liked the show as much as the next gigantic fan, but it's over.

Plus, if it came back then we'd never get to see a possible Faith series!!*whine!*

What he said. And I'm holding off on the DVD, too. At least until someone from the show announces what the chances of the six Season 2 episodes they shot being included in a future release of the Season 1 DVD are.

Thing is if I thought there was a chance of Fox getting their head out of their ass, I'd get involved in a save the show movement.

But there's not.

Matter of fact, the only time I've gotten involved in a Save Our Show thing was for Farscape.

Otherwise, when it's gone, it's done.

They might not continue the show but they could still air season 2. There's an article on SupportTruCalling.com that says that Shawn Reaves, who played Harrison on the show, tells fans to support the airing of season 2. Also, they say that season 2 might be coming to DVD eventually.

What the heck is wrong with Fox?They take off creative shows and slap on so-called reality tv shows. This is so stupid.Fox has a long history of not being able to see a good thing and promote it.It's almost like they want us to not be entertained.I gotta rant a little.Years ago there was a shoe called get real that I loved.Problem:fox kept switching the time around, postponig episodes, airing the program and not airing the time slots.Needless to say,it got canceled. Here is alist of shows I really liked that got canceled for a variety of reasons:Fastlane
John doe
Wonder Falls
Brimstone
Millenium
The Lone Gunmen
Freakylinks
Dark Angel
There are probably more give me time to think(mumbles to self)....

I thought M.A.N.T.I.S. AND VR.5 were pretty good. Sliders was really cool. It lasted three seasons on Fox. Then a few more on the Sci-Fi Channel. Course, I personally like the first two seasons of Sliders best. Although I liked Kari Wuhrer on the show, I would rather she had been a fifth slider or something like that. I think they should've kept all the original cast.

I don't know about Eliza Dushku doing a Faith series. I'd like to see that too, but Joss Whedon is (as reported in the December 21, 2004 movie news on this site) supposedly "getting out of the TV biz to focus on making movies". And Eliza probably wouldn't do it without Joss. She's talked like she didn't want to play one character for too long, but she would like to work with Joss again. So Joss would probably have to be involved. It would be great though to see a Faith series. I'd guess it's possible Joss might change his mind and want to do movies AND still do a TV series as well, if he would have time to.

How were you under that assumption. It was officially cancelled quite publicly after just four episodes.

They don't seem to do good on some cable channels, either. Dead Like Me, from the creator of Wonderfalls, looks to be just. . . dead. Showtime's passed on a third season, and they've let the cast's contracts expire.

Wonderfalls is coming to DVD in Feburary, the first thirteen episodes with lots of commentary and extras and so on. We are there for that one.

Tru Calling, I dunno... I'd have to see the set for pretty cheap before dropping any money on it. There are other 13-episode, canceled-too-soon DVD sets I'd rather invest in first, if someone ever gets around to puttting them out.

Showtime's cancelled the show, but the producer's aren't completely giving up yet. (http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire2005/index.php?category=0&id=30019)

Tru Calling could possibly be brought back on tv, even beyond season 2. It would probably just depend on whether or not every one is sick of how Fox has handled the show. If I'm not mistaken, Fox canceled Sliders after season 3 and the Sci-Fi Channel picked up the show. Hunter ended in the early '90s on NBC, not necessarily because of low ratings. I don't know why exactly they ended it, it might've been because they wanted to end the show with good ratings and didn't want to run it so long that people might eventually get tired of it. But they show came back on NBC about a couple years ago or something like that. And although it didn't stay on for very very long time, it did stay on for several episodes.

If Tru Calling didn't continue beyond season 2, there might be a possibility of a movie. I haven't heard anything but you never know, maybe they would do that. that's an idea for the makers of Tru Calling to consider.

Crap, crap, crap.

Still, I'd rather let the show die than have it stuck on either Sci-fi or the WB.

From what i remember reading , Hunter ended because fred dryer demanded a big raise and got fired instead. I guess after many years, they mended the fence and brought hunter back for a few episodes.

Whether it be Tru Calling or a Faith series , as long as Eliza Duskha has a regular role on TV , i'll be happy. :)

Does anybody know if SupportTruCalling.com is still up? Since at least probably yesterday, when you go to the site it just has a blank background and a message that says "Hello, World". I was wondering if they've taken it down or what. SupportTruCalling.com can still do some good for the show. I don't know if they can bring back the show for many seasons, but they can still try to garner support for airing of the second season.

Yeah, I need to see Eliza, Jessica Alba, and Kristin Kreuk whenever I damn well please.

And even better, the idiot who made the decision that Point Pleasant would be a better fit with The O.C., Fox Entertainment President Gail Berman, is out after 5 years. She is taking an as yet unspecified job with Paramount.

Steve,
Thanks for sharing the good news. This was one of the few shows that my wife and I made a point of watching. Glad that they are at least going to air the shows they filmed. So much crap on tv and they can't find a place for a semi-interesting show like this? Hard to believe.
