GK had it's moments. The animation was good, but some of the scripting was terrible (Batman punching bullets anywehre?)
Here's hoping we get one with Aresia and or Sinestro!

I thought Gotham Knights was bad but this has potential. If anything the format should work much better since each segment can highlight a different character. I still haven't checked out the Green Lantern animated movie they did a while back...

As long as Kyle, Killowog and Guy get a story I'm happy :)

Well, GK was boring as all Hell, but the Green Lantern Corps would be better suited for this format by its very nature.

For the record, I liked Gotham Knight.
Anyway this sounds awesome and everything I could have hoped for. Much preferable to a sequel to the mostly-crappy First Flight.

First flight was prety lame, and I don't see this one being any better.
Personally I liked Gotham Knight as well, it and Red Hood are my two favorites of the DCA movies

I liked Batman: Gotham Knight, as well, and I think Green Lantern loans itself very well to an anthology movie. I'm really looking forward to this, as long as it has nothing to do with First Flight, which was crap.

I think Green Lantern loans itself very well to an anthology movie.Agreed. This should be interesting. I believe the purpose of this DVD mirrors the one of Gotham Knight: Providing entertaining background stories and expanding on the characters seen in the live-action movie.
Kind of, if you loved the GL film, here's more on these characters. So we can reasonably expect to see segments covering the Manhunters, Krona, Parallax, Abin Sur, perhaps Sinestro's origin, and at least one segment featuring Hal.

I second that.
Wouldn't mind to see Natu too.

I thought First Flight was more than decent. I like the idea of doing an anthology, and what better franchise to do something like this than the GLC where you can use so many different types of Green Lanterns? It makes sense to me.
Also, Gotham Knights was the business.

So this is basically a TALES OF THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS animated movie?
......SOLD.
I love the comics in that style, I'm pretty sure I'll love a movie in this style too.

So turns out I was right:
Bruce Timm has confirmed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyW06S_yuJ0&feature=related) there will be 5-6 segments providing background on several characters from the live-action film, with an overall story arc tying the segments together.
When asked which GLs will be featured in the individual clips, he named 3 of them: Sinestro, Abin Sur, Kilowog. He said Kilowog's would be set during his rookie days.

This sounds awesome. The Green Lantern Corps is a perfect fit for this kind of format.

Smartly done. Despite the first GL DVD not being a great seller, tying it right into the movie (while still working as its own project) is a real good move.

Sorry to bring back a (slightly) old thread, but I just saw a voice actor list for at DC's Source page (http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2011/03/09/check-out-an-exclusive-still-of-hal-jordan-in-green-lantern-emerald-knights/) (characters acquired from the IMDB page (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1683043/)) and had to share:
Nathan Fillion (Hal), Henry Rollins (Kilowog), Elisabeth Moss (Arisia), Jason Isaacs (Sinestro), Roddy Piper! (Bolphunga, so it sounds like one of these short tales is Alan Moore's Mogo story!), Kelly Hu (Laira), Arnold Vosloo (Abin Sur) and Wade Williams (Deegan).

Would it be entirely too geeky if I squeed about the returning "DC Veterans" in the cast?
I know Rollins played Robot Man on Brave and the Bold, Kelly Hu currently voices Cheshire and Paula Brooks on Young Justice, Isaacs was Ras al Ghul in Under The Red Hood, and Wade Williams was the leader of the Qward Weaponers in the Brave and the Bold.

I watched this last night. Not bad, but I liked First Flight better. Each short is basically a Lantern back story. Hal is basically the storyteller. And the primary conflict of the film is virtually non-existant and has about 10 mins of the entire film alloted to it.

I bought it when it came out. My favorite tale I liked in the movie is the one about magog.

I got this Day 1: Arisia is my all time favorite Alien GL, and they adapted the very Kick butt Laira story from the old Tales of the Green Lantern Corps series. (Which still irritates me that Geoff wrote Laira so out of character than killed her off.)
I thought this was actually pretty good.
I loved the way that giant-Krona was animated and the timely arrival at the end of the movie was rather nicely done.
I actually place it slightly higher than First Flight.

I really enjoyed it. I thought all of the voice actors fit the various characters well. It would have been nice if Tygers could have been a little closer to the actual comic but I'm sure the PG rating was a factor in that.
I also thought the documentary Only The Bravest was well done.

I was expecting a solid viewing, but I was blown away by Emerald Knights. It educated me on a few Lanterns I didn't know much about. It was accessible for the newbie and chock full of action. Couldn't believe how much I loved it, actually as I can't recommend it enough. The sound mix was even good as I've been kind of disappointed in the past with some other DC direct to video offerings in that regard.
I think they did an amazing job of showing diverse "tales of the Green Lantern corps". I find myself hard pressed to pick the one I enjoyed most. Hal himself, as others have stated, comes across chiefly the link between the stories but Nathan's voice is darn catchy (guy has a nice cadence) and works well for that task.
