Whenever you listen to a song, it is erased from existence. All knowledge of it, its composition, and otherwise, is gone. This effects the entire human race. What happens?

I cry.
I can no longer listen to music again? How am I going to avoid it? Any little tune, any little jingle. I hear it? Gone.

Sort of a an obvious answer. We lose all songs.

Maybe I'll assist you and listen to Justin Bieber's songs as well.

Question: Do we, the listener, remember the song, even if it is erased?

If so, then I could see the possibilities of making a profit by releasing a popular song as my own, and should I end up listening to it, simply release it again.

You remember the title of the song. And the subject matter. maybe even the impact it had on the music world. Nothing else.

That's not a bad idea. That is assuming you can sing, of course.

What if we print out the lyrics of the song before we listen to it?

Oh, you can do that, but you can't remember or record the actual notes.

What happens if we go deaf?

If you can't hear songs, then they don't count as being listened to by you.

There would be no more live music, unless it was totally improvised. That's a huge blow.

In this case, I'll listen to all the songs everyone hates, then deafen myself.

Sad that some of the last things I'll ever hear is Justin Bieber and Ke$ha. :frown:

I'll just make up my own notes, folks won't know the difference

We write MORE music is what. But the best part of it is that you can use each song infinitely, therefore granting infinite #1 chart toppers!

I think you just described a condition of hell that no one has ever concieved of before.

Oh well, in the spirit that others have taken, I too listen to all of Justin Bieber's greatest hits, least greatest hits, and direct this curse at other musicians and their crapfest songs as well. I'm starting with the Thong song.

No more "We Are the World"? Depressing. :frown:

And I think the world's art/culture suffers somehow.

I think it'd be okay.

I think it'd be okay.

Maybe on the national and overall level but on the personal level this is just plain ole fucktard assholishness in effect.

Not three weeks ago one of my close friends died in a drowning accident in the ocean and one of the ways that our circle dealt with the loss was by listening to the old music that we all used to love ( very musical related group of friends ).

Now we don't have that? Hearing a good song on a bad day can do a lot to change your outlook, but now we don't have that.

Now there's no more musical inspiration there for someone to listen to get pumped up before competition.......

yeah the world might be okay but just because music doesn't move you doesn't mean that the rest of us are so lucky.

....i'm gonna go listen to some BG now. if anyone needs me i'll be in the corner with some headphones on.
