Who here has listened to any of the DC comics "Graphic Audio" dramas? What did you guys think?

I personally think they do an excellent job (they even made countdown bearable), the only downside is they are limited by the source material (as they only work off of the novelized storylines), I would love to see them branch out and do stuff like RIP and BFTC, although I'm looking forward to the Final Crisis drama when it comes out in November

I've listened to several of them (Crisis on Infinite Earths, Green Lantern Hero's Quest, Infinite Crisis pt 1) and really liked them. They do a great job especially with the dramatization and the sound effects.
I would also like to see them branch out and do storylines from the actual comics and not just the novels. There's tons of source material that would make for awesome audio books!

Totally agree there, I would love to see them also do elseworlds stuff, like Red Rain and the Nail

Has anyone here heard the audiobook for Final Crisis? Is it good?

Does the dialogue follow the comic closely? Cause what I want to do is read along with the audiobook, hopefully that's possible even though it's based off of a novelization.

Any recommendations for a starter set? I love Old Time Radio and audio drama, and these sound very cool.

crazy old thread.

I've listened to Crisis on Infinite Earths and Final Crisis, and I'd recommend either.

CoIE's makes what is, to me (joined the comics hobby in 2009), a very unenjoyable classic comic into something kind of glorious if non-nonsensical.

FC's is perfect if you want to understand the face-value of what's going on in FC. There is a hell of a lot to that book that kind of gets missed out on (it's pretty hard to read the heaping piles of metanarrative from the story when it's not straight out of the author's mouth). It makes FC into a coherent and fun event type story, which in many ways is what people fruitlessly wanted the comic to be.

Basically, FC's Graphic Audio? Minus the bazillion threads of meaning you can easily get out of FC, but plus some fun that wasn't really originally there. I like it.

haha this IS old.
I want to listen to some audio stuff. I haven't seen any around though. You think they'd be at my LCBS?

I listened to the Crisis On Infinite Earths one.

Nothing seems to beat the BBC Knightfall audio book for me though.
