What comic book from 1971-1972 has an image on the cover of a man in the ocean swimming toward a buoy to which a skeleton is clinging? I think he's swimming left to right.

First off, thank you for the try. I'm searching my memory, but I don't think this is it. I'm pretty sure left to right, and i suspect it was a 15 or 20 center. I THINK there was just a skeleton, (not Death), indicating the swimmer was totally screwed - someone else had reached the buoy before him and never gotten off so he;'d die the same way.
