I went outside around 1 and saw a cop car near my house but didnt know what was going on and didnt pay much attention, about half an hour later I went outside to give a message and saw my neighbour on my porch and my next door neighbour as well. My next door neighbour had heard a loud noise and looked outside and saw two teenagers breaking into their next door neighbours' house (before my next door neighbours' house was built, their next door neighbour was my next door neighbour and we know them very well) She called the cops and when my other neighbour came back from a walk she saw the cops by her house and becaem worried especially after she found out what happened, after which she was in a slight case of shock, and se was sitting with my mother trying to keep calm.

The police confirmed there was a break in but didnt catch anyone. My next door neighbour then noted sadly that even if they were caught, they would probably just get a slap on the wrist and not even juvenile hall

That's just ridiculous.

And apparently when they made their getaway, they did so through my backyard according to the police

I'd keep an eye out for the next few nights. People tend to return to the scene of the crime if they didn't get caught. I don't mean to scare you, just a heads up, if you think you hear or see something err on the side of caution. My neighborhood had a similar problem a few years ago, and they came back to the same area several times until they were caught.
