The mainstream media news outlets are announcing that the show Luck is coming to HBO. I think this is a good sign that the show is a go (unlike Last of the Ninth, which was rumored all over the Internet and in Hollywood trade papers, but which HBO eventually canned after the pilot)
The fact that big names like Dustin Hoffman, Nick Nolte, and Micheal Mann are also attached to this is probably the biggest reason it has a chance to survive (HBO has quit on Milch and his cast of lesser-known actors more than once)
Luck will be about life around horse racing and the race track. But any fan of Milch knows the meat of the show will be in the characters and the exploration of human nature/truths about life
