First things first, the art was just beautiful but at times is quite dark but still it was excellent to look at.
The plot is pretty B movie like, Domino was hired to do a job with some assassins because she needed some money; they needed Neena's luck to help them out.
It turns out the job was about human trafficking of women, Dom has her limits so she turns on them and gets the girls to safety. The assassins came after her and she fights them off.
She makes her way to an X-Force base so Elixir can heal her but Logan lets her bleed so she could tell him who attacked her. Logan knows every one in the Marvel Universe so he tags along with her, riding in a old school Mustang Domino says Logan still wants her after he had a taste back in Japan.
Logan gets shot in the head from a sniper while driving, Domino starts shooting it up and after Logan is healed he starts slicing em up and in the middle of battle they have sexy time.
Then some guy with big blades for arms yells "where's my money" Domino says Whoops. The Assassins Guild are out to kill her cause she got something they want.
I thought it was good if you loved Secret War by Gabriel Dell Otto you should pick this up too. 9/10

X-23 would be 1,000 times more popular if she took that know-it-all attitude of hers and directed it at Scott Summers. He could really use a refresher in strategy.
The sublime representation of Domino is another nail in Jean Grey's coffin. Not even Wolverine needs her back.

The sniper scene was really, really well done. Very cinematic.
And Domino's expression on the last page just make me giggle uncontrollably.

The art was really gorgeous and totally worth the wait. The story is also really good. I can't wait for the next issue.

Now that she's only taking orders from herself, it could happen.

Domino was great in this. Her trying to blame Elixir, her (probable) BS story about Japanese child slaves and her fight with the guild, she really grew on me.
The art was incredible.

Can't get enough Wolverine/Domino.

Was that Razorfist at the end? Huh. Sometimes I wonder why that a villain who can be foiled by a doorknob gets any play.
Anyway, Domino comes off as beautiful, deadly, and playfully wicked in this script. The chemistry with the aggressive, constantly stubborn and obtuse Wolverine is sublime.
And the action just keeps delivering. Ninjas, Assassins Guild, all lined up for the kill. This thing was worth the wait.

Is it wrong that one of the panels turned me on lol? It was a brilliant book, I can not wait to see the story flesh out.

I would not wish to be that doorknob foiling Razorfist - or the door, for that matter.
The issue was great, everyone was in character, and I especially like it that we don't know how much of what Domino told was true and what not - no more than Logan does. The two of them make a great duo, and Neena's luck might just save her from Logan's women's chronic funeral syndrome.

Hey don't underestimate the kinetic force of a bullet, especialy those of high powered sniper rifles.
Even if his skulls won't be penetrated by the bullet the force of impact should have damaged his brain via the impact force being transported against the brain, especialy since with the adamantium his skull is an even better resonating body than a nrmal human skulls.
So it was less about healing the wound and more about healing the trauma to the brain.

This is a return to form for X-force after the derail of Messiah War, Necrosha and Second Coming. This is what X-force is meant to be. I'm sad we only get a couple of issues of it, though.

Not bad. Art was great yeah, don't see how it was really worth the wait. Story was simple but at least better than everything after Messiah War.
This is before Wolvie got himself an ethnic human girlfriend in Weapon X right?

It doesn't matter. Melita and he haven't been together long enough to be monogamous. And Logan is a gaijin dawg. He'd have no problem cheating anyway.

What scene in Japan was Domino referring to...
Otherwise, the book was great...just read it again right now. Can't get enough of the art and the brutality. I never managed to pick up Secret War (Bendis Version). I just may have to now...
Edit: I'm assuming that Elixer also healed her teeth too?

I'd assumed he tagged that off-panel at one point...that one issue where she asks him to take a momentary leave with her while he's searching for X made me think that...either way, I really approve this pairing...tis' a shame that it won't get more screen time I'm assuming when Yost leaves...its clever matchmaking and hopefully someone runs with it. I especially enjoy that it's all happening pretty naturally...

Morrison is the one who first put them together as buddies in New X-Men annual #1 while they were in Hong Kong. I think Kyle and Yost loved that issue and their chemistry.

Got my copy today.
Wow. Loved it. The art was epic. The story was also good.
I did find a flaw. And its one of those flaws that only a NXM fan would know. Josh didnt seem to know what "The Hand" was. However, he had a convo about it with with Dani when Wovie was reprogramed by the Hand and killed Northstar. It was in the New Muants run. Just before Decimation.
But, yeah, apart from that. Awesome!
I did want X to dissobay Logan and jump into help with the fight at the end, lol. But, yeah, what can I say, she rocks. You know I love her. That, and I wanted to see more panels of her drawn by the artist.
Very much looking foward to the next two issues!
Was a good read. And I laughed when Razorfist showed up. He is gonna get his ass kicked

Shit this was great. Dell'Otto's work was amazing but the dialog and action was brilliant. Especially Domino whoops at the end. I also loved seeing Domino using her powers (Lots of writers forget she has powers).
looking foward to the next two issues but I will be really sad when it is over.

This was the best thing out this week hands down!!
This really is book of the week, for sure. I was a huge fan of Original X-Force. I never read Kyle&Yost. Except XForce Annual with Deadpool. As good as that was, it only gave me a taste. Now THIS...is more like it. This is what I like: action with my comedy. Character development. Clever turns of hand.
I don't know much about contemporary XMen. I thought that it's interesting that Domino/Neena lives in an apartment, rather than in some sort of X-Stronghold.
The jokes in this issue will have me back for more. Kyle+Yost=Purchase.

You know, I thought the same thing without your misanthropic touch, of course. They're really diving in for millionth helping of Scott and Jean already, and she's not even old enough yet!

Wow no thread for this?
I was at a book store which also sells comics, and seeing the issue on the shelf I picked it up and actually ended up buying it (the nice shot of X-23 sealed that deal:smile:). Wow! Not bad at all. I actually thought that it would be a superficial money grab. But there is actually a good story brewing.
A+

Thanks for that. It didn't come up in the search I did.
You know there's two kinds of female archetypes I normally gravitate to. I call them the mis-understood bad girl or Emma Peel. But sometimes you need a change and something different. Domino was like the perfect combination of Thelma and Louise. I really half expected her to say 'Sheat hunney!' and spit out a stream of chewing tobacco. It really is too bad that the book wasn't all about her.
X-23 would be 1,000 times more popular if she took that know-it-all attitude of hers and directed it at Scott Summers. He could really use a refresher in strategy.
I am glad to see that you are acknowledging X-23's know-it-all attitude. I find it the most charming part of her personality. Because God knows we don't need another clueless dumb-as-a-rock teenage girl.
