Hi

I was just wondering about the whole process of comic making, as I'd like to make my own (for print).

Generally, when you've pencilled a page do you letter on top of that original or photocopy it then letter on the copy?

Also the same question about coloring/inking a pencilled page.

Thanks for any advice

If you're unsure I recommend getting some help at a place like the Digital Webbing forums: http://www.digitalwebbing.com/forums/
Either way it depends what you want, the way most big companies like Marvel and DC do it is hire a person for every one of those jobs. (Because it's a lot of work if each one is done right.)
First a penciller will pencil a page and then it will be sent to the inker. (Mostly it's electronic these days, you'll hardly ever see original copies of anything passed around.) There have been a few cases where as a colorist I've received lettered pages straight over the inks electronically via something like Illustrator but usually after inks a work is coloured and then the page is lettered.

My advice instead of using Photocopiers is to get yourself a decent scanner and play around with scans of your work.
