I'm trying to complie a list of all the tpbs which reprint Silver Age Superman material (even just a couple of stories if not the whole book). Are there any you can think of that are missing from this list?

DC's Greatest Imaginary Stories
Superman: The Amazing Transformations of Jimmy Olsen
Superman: The Bottle City of Kandor
The Greatest Superman Stories Ever Told
Superman in the 50s
Superman in the 60s
Superman Vs Braniac
Showcase Presents Superman
Showcase Presents Superman Family
Kryptonite Nevermore
Superman Past and Future
Superman: Daily Planet
Superman vs Lex Luthor
Superman: Tales From the Phantom Zone
Superman: Nightwing and Flamebird
Superman: Man of Tomorrow Archives 1 & 2

I cant think of any. But someone with more knowledge might have some other titles. TPBS are a good way of reading what came before without all the expense.

That's a damn fine and concise list. Everything I could think of is on it already.

Thanks, marshall99!

It occurred to me yesterday that I could probably slip SAGA OF THE SUPER-SONS on here as well.

The Greatest Team-Up Stories ever told (outta print) has a couple of Superman stories - As does "The Greatest 1950s stories ever told."

Showcase Presents: World's Finest has Superman/Batman team-ups.

And, if you can find it, there's Superman: From the '30s to the '70s - Possibly the first Superman bound volume(?)

The 30s to the 70s books are awesome! I first read them as a child and I was completely spellbound by them. Up to that time it was the biggest book I owned - well that and the Bible. You can find them on ebay easily enough - prices very from a few dollars right up into the hundred mark or so.

Alright, I guess this is the perfect thread to ask this question: when does the Silver Age of Superman start exactly? I know it technically ends with "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?" but I'm curious as to when the Earth-1 Superman officially debuted, if he even did.

I'd love to start a collection of all the Silver Age Superman stories in collected form.

Fool, the first SA issue is Action 241 (June 1958) "The Super-Key To Fort Superman."

If you check Amazon, you'll find that issue and the subsequent issues in the first and second volumes of The Man of Tomorrow Archives.

They don't come cheap, though, but they are definitely worth it. Hunt long enough online, I imagine you'll find 'em pretty cheap somewhere.
