What do you win?

The right to manage your own comics line for two years. And the BIG bonus, you get to use 3 characters of your choice from each company..... EXCLUSIVELY.

That's right, while you're controlling them, DC and Marvel cannot use them.

Who do you pick and why? I know some of you will just pick the big sellers, but I'm hoping to see some original ideas.

Who I would pick:

DC
*Nemesis
*Skyrocket
*Adam Strange

Marvel
*Daredevil
*Iron Fist
*Doctor Strange

Why:

*Nemesis because I love the character and I think a true Master of Disguise type character would be great for a real espionage-flavored adventure series. Get rid of some of the psychotropic elements of the last mini and instead go for a "Burn Notice" vibe.

*Skyrocket. Because she's awesome. Because she's a 'pure' hero -- she does what she does because she thinks it's the right thing to do. This invariable writes its own conflicts. Plus, she's from St. Louis... my old hometown (sort-of) and the STL could use some superheroics.

*Adam Strange. Because "Planet Heist" was brilliant but everything that has come after has just made the whole thing insanely convoluted. It's time to get back to basics... he's a guy with a jet pack and a ray gun. There's no END of cool that can be written with that.

*Daredevil. Because I know I know everyone has loved Bendis and Brubaker's work on the character but dear GOD all DD has been over the last several years is pain, heartache and misery. Noir is great stuff but a steady diet of it makes you wonder why the character hasn't committed suicide yet. It's time for a little stability -- just for a little while. Let the man have a couple of happy months and work on building up some new supporting casts and rogues... and for a change NOT have them get killed.

*Iron Fist. Because Matt Fraction's run was awesome and needs to be continued in some way.

*Doctor Strange. Again, awesome, and the recent attempts at 'shake ups' for the character have been really weak sauce. It's time to take the good Doctor in some new directions and I think I've got a good one that involves him actually working with ordinary people -- working as an actual doctor in a low-income clinic in the city and running into "City Magic" -- the stuff that is a blend of the urban and the ancient. Punk Rock Faeries and Heavy Metal Trolls, etc.

Question: Would I get to do whatever I wanted with the characters? Meaning, can I just start over from the beginning, with total disregard for each character's history and continuity?

Also, would I get the characters' supporting casts too? For example, if I choose Superman, do Lex Luthor and Lois Lane come along for the ride? (He'd be pretty worthless without them.)

Yes to both.

DC
Superman (he's my favourite hero)
Centrix (he's Canadian)
Black Canary (make sure no one tries to take her 8th founding leaguer status away from her)

Marvel
Spider Man (he's probably my favourite Marvel hero)
Silver Surfer (cosmic)
Black Panther (to get Priest to write him again)

DC

Wonder Woman--the "flagship" character of my new company!

Metamorpho--Globe-trotting superhero who tackles outrageous adventures as a shapeshifting, modern-day Indiana Jones!

Firestorm--Play up Jason Rusch & graduate student Ron Raymond as a composite "Everyman" hero.

Marvel

Spider-Woman--noirish tales of a super-spy/detective tackling the bizarre. Jessica Drew is THE "Spider" character for this company!

Hawkeye--Circus bowman turned flashy, self-made superhero.

Storm--A multifaceted, world-class heroine who defends the environment & poor while searching for the truth about her missing parents. (Maybe they DIDN'T die during that air raid!)

If I wanted to be coy, I'd say Superman and add that nobody would notice whether he was used by DC or not.

Come to think of it, when WAS the last time Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman were all around? Trinity did that and so did Meltzer's JLA but even Trinity disposed of them for a good chunk of its run.

I'd probably take Black Lightning and let Tony Isabella write him. Also, a couple of Inferior 5ers and some Great Lakes Champions.
