Shout out to Mister Mets and his thread in the Spidey forum (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=195510).

Let's say Dan Didio quietly decides that the DC Universe (or at least the Superman books) are going to come to an end in about five years.

Who would you want writing and drawing Superman's last adventure? What would you like to see in that storyline, and the stories leading up to it?

If they do that they might as well just use the next five years to make it possible for the story "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tommorow" possible in DC's current continuity. I can't picture a better ending for the Superman mythos. At the end I'd just reprint that story with different artists who have a history with Superman draw a new set of novelty covers, and maybe let different writers do a brief goodbye letter to the character.

Taking that scenario then I would opt for somebody to sack DiDio! And suddenly across the Internet there was a roar -- as people began to clap and applaud.

But seriously if the Superman comics were coming to an end it would be a no-brainer because fans would create their own comic books and the legend would continue

To the OP's question:

Nooooooooo!

Also: Grant Morrison.

I doubt Superman would ever cease as a comic-book character; he's the modern Hercules.

I read every boy dreams he has a secret identity and every girl, that's she's a princess. Superman is part of our dreams, now.

I'd like to see a collaboration on some of the best writers out there. Not just comic writers, but literary figures and such. Superman is most likely one of the top five most popular fictional characters in any medium (not just comics) so it only makes sense that his final issue (which will probably sell for 9.99 knowing DC ) is one of the most important pieces of fiction just like Action Comics 1.
