I have never read the Punisher, but this sounds pretty epic. I'll have to check out the first issue.

I'm very much looking forward to this. Mayberry's Naked Kill (http://www.comicbookdb.com/issue.php?ID=171645) was an awesome Punisher Max one-shot. Those one-shots are typically great reads, but Naked Kill was one of the best thus far.

Mmmm...I've never been a fan of Punisher...but that said, neither was I a fan of Deadpool and I quite liked Maberry's take on him in Doowar...so I just might give this a shot...the deciding factor would certainly be whether or not I like the art.

So whats this book going to do to to diffrent from Marvel Zombies other then not calling them zombies and having Frank be the one shooting them. I really wished that was asked in this. That cover does look awesome though.

Ohhhh MAN, I've been jonesin' for some Parlov. Hit me up.
Hey Maberry, any progress with the Frank 'White' Castle idea? For any of you not in the know, it's an incredibly clever story involving Frank taking over a White Castle and turning criminals into Burgers. White Castle burgers.
Burgers which he routinely donates to the local prison cafeteria -- get it? Criminals eating themselves. I don't know, it's ironic or something.
Anyways, Marvel is probably writing up a contract for me right now -- 'sign that White Castle-guy up, and give him an Avengers title while you're at it'.
Great new lines:
"I will RELISH turning you into hamburger."
"I was going to say 'interrogate', but perhaps 'a good grilling' is more appropriate."
There's also a lot of hilarity to be had having a guy named 'Frank' making burgers. Get it? Frank? Like a ballpark Frank?
Sigh...I've got a brain the size of Modok's.

Or a pitch similar in ineptitude to FrankenCastle.

Okay... now i'm interested.
The art from the previews looks pretty good... and the story sounds better than Marvel Zombies (actually what MZ should have been in the first place, no 'weee let's go eat some Galactus!'.
Now, im definitely gonna buy this.

So its Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe meets Marvel Zombies.
Seems unnecessary, but hopefully frank wont go out like a punk like he did in Marvel Zombies

You know, one of these days days they're going to have to write a story explaining *WHY* the Marvel Heroes haven't put The Punisher away permanently when he's just a serial killer armed with street-level technology. It's especially embarrassing when you think that Daredevil or Spider-man handle bozos like him all the time. And yes I know it's just fanwankery on the level of Wolverine or Deadpool. But a logical explanation (and no, being badass for being a Viet Nam veteran doesn't work) is going to be needed one of these days.
I wonder how Punisher fans would feel if they published THE MARVEL UNIVERSE KILLS THE PUNISHER.

Wolverine, Daredevil, and Spiderman teamed up together to stop Punisher because he had made all three of them look like asses seperately before. You know what happened when they teamed up together and tried to do it........He made them all look like asses at the same time!

An sensing not a lot of love for the Punisher in this post ....... lol
Also its, YES it does work that Frank is a combat vet(don't think the NAM origin is still the origin of the 616 MU Punisher) and can kick super powered heros asses ,Frank is a strategist, because unlike 99 % of the Marvel MU he plans his battles out beforhand, and does not just react to the other villians / Heros actions, he takes the offensive, unlike say for example spidey or Daredevil..
The Punisher going into his fights against criminals alot of the time has the battle planned out first.....
oh ! and saying that the Punisher can't survive in a universe with all the super powered heros when he has no powers and street level tech, when a blind man with a stick, radar sense and martial arts training can ?!?!?
Its the Marvel MU !!! Its not meant to be logical, its meant to be exciting....
Oh and as for the MU hunting Frank down , its been done , before, and good story it was too (PARIAH PWJ Vol1 issues 61 to 65), as for the MU killing Frank Castle?!?!?
Does that not totally go against what most of them stand for ?!?!?

All I can say, guys, is read the book and then decide. Most of the comments, comparing it to the similarly titled Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe or to Marvel Zombies is interesting, but not relevant. This is a different story and I do think you'll enjoy it.
Hope to see some of you guys at Comic Con, too.
