Is that Triple H or what ever the hell that guy calls himself now a days?

I swear, I know that face from all those wacky TV Wrestling shows. And honestly, they have become Soap Operas for guys, it's actually pretty fun.

That's fine by me, I really do want moar Bouncing Betty, and if it came down to it, I'd say have Fraction ditch Fantomex in a heart beat for Bouncing Betty.

No offense to you Mr. Fraction, but Fantomex seemed to only work for Morrison, it's something connected to the way his brain is hardwired, it's like he's connected to the flow of life itself and he knows how to implement chaos and randomness to make it coherent and understandable, oddly enough.

It could be Dog Logan for all we know...

I support Claremont's idea circa 2001 that the Sabretooth that we've seen from 1978 on up is a weak clone and the real Sabretooth shies away from dealing with super-types and keeps to himself in the shadows of the Marvel Universe, only coming out once a year to take his son down a peg or two on his birthday. The real Victor Creed is far worse than the one we have seen, even the one who gutted Feral. Why would Sabretooth run around with mutant teams who get their asses kicked by 3rd rate X-Men, chase after Spiderman and get his ass kicked by Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Misty Knight? Creed is the real, original Logan. Why is Logan a bad-ass? Because he's just like his daddy. Now that the weaker clone has been killed, the real Sabretooth finally comes out the shadows...

I'd actually suggest the best scenario for this is that hes actually a really gentle, considerate and friendly guy. Unfortunatly it's his mutant power for everyone to always act as if he's being a massive chauvinistic ass, regardless of what he actually does, and to look like one.

That's an ugly face, but it kind of reminds me of Sabretooth. I swear if he somehow comes back into the picture after Second Coming I'll personally walk up to Matt Fraction and the X-Editors and kiss their shoes. I think it's been a while since old man Creed was involved in the X-comics and this seems like a pretty good time for him to come back into the fold. With Second Coming ending, something other than vampires needs to maintain the awesome and Sabretooth has always been able to do that through the many fights he picks with Logan. Plus, he's knocked up Mystique. That counts as bonus points in my book.

Actually, I have a feeling that'll probably be the case. Maybe Jubilee'll hang around because she's in the books lately, but it's doubtful. Then again, in a lot of these X-Books, you'll be lucky if you keep half the guys from the last version. The new X-Force just carried over Warpath and Domino, I think. The current X-Factor brought over Jamie, Guido and Rahne, but lost Rahne to X-Force later.

I figure it'll probably be Hope and a bunch of new characters with a sort of thematic connection with the Phalanx story with the idea of "protecting the next generation".

I think in 2001 I was still on my self-imposed hiatus...so can you reference me this? So I can read it

I remember my old 80's and 90's stuff that Claremont clearly wrote this rivarly as being as such, a father/son dynamic. Sabretooth always referenced Logan as the sloppy seconds...I use to (and still do) love the idea, since it made things so much simpler and there wasn't a need for horse shit like Wolverine: Origins.

Then I remember Marvel did a 180 on the connection (someone help me) I think in Wolverine #41 or 42 where Fury did a blood test and it came up negative. I was so pissy...anyways...where can I read up on that...

That was actually my first guess. One or two of the writers in recent interviews have been hinting at Dog's possible return. Still, I suspect that Marvel's going to punk out and say that Wolvie killed a clone of Victor. It's just the easy way out of that hole they dug.

On the other hand...... What would Creed have to do with hope? Hmmm.

AFAIK, Marvel has never adequately explored the idea of these so-called "secondary mutations" that first appeared in Morrison's run. I mean, they've touched on it, but have largely left it alone. What if Creed's return from death has to do with a secondary mutation?

What if Wanda's "no more mutants" decree only wiped out primary mutations? I wonder if that's something that Beast would have ever explored.

It could be that Hope wasn't necessarily the first new mutant birth. It could just be that hers was the first new secondary mutation to manifest since M-Day. Her primary mutation, whatever that might have been, might also have been nullified via Wanda's little curse. The real hope might be in some secondary x-factor that causes those 2nd level mutations.

To me, that would be a convenient way of working around the HoM twist without retconning it. So, we could see more mutants in the future, but not as many since we'd have to wait for that 2nd mutation to kick in and take the place of what would've been their primary one.

Marvel Comics has just released a new "New Generation of Hope" teaser image, this time featuring a rather violent looking character bearing a strong resemblance to the mutant known as Sabretooth.

It was to much to hope that the image would be a disembodied Sabretooth inhabiting a pack of vampire wolves. Or a weeping floating head.

Of all the Claw Clan folk, I'm actually intrigued by Romulus. Can't say that I know much about him, but I can see him written as an alternative to Dracula - living for centuries, accumulating vast amounts of wealth and power through intimidation and suggestive threats with his unnatural and mysterious looking appearance. Then seeking out his kinfolk to join his dark lupine empire.

Corny storyline... probably. But I'd buy into it, even if it does sound cliche'd.

Yea reading one issue of Wolverine Origins will cure you of that opinion. And I love Wolverine but this stupid family marvel is making for him needs to be retconned out of exsistance. I would except Wolverine waking up form the "strangest dream" at this point if it ment we could rid ourselves of the low rent fan fiction that is Daken, Romulus, and X-23.

Also as much as I would love Sabertooth to return its not going to happen because then only way Marvel can make these lame new Wolverine villians seem remotely cool is by keeping the orginal B.A.M.F Sabertooth dead.

Character looks stupid and I hope tp goodness he doesn't turn out to be a reborn Sabertooth or another weak Logan knock off.

Although I am getting intrigued since it looks like this new generation is being patterned off of Xmen villains. Will we get a young Magus in the next pic?

I agree 100% on this lets hope they are all new mutants with secondary mutations or at least cerebros xmen come to true life which would be very interesting but I think its time we have some new blood as heroes and villians in the x books

Obama already had a million similar slogans a couple of years ago. It reads like dem propaganda.

So did "the battle against Proposition X".

You do realise that the whole fact that the X-men end up being a gay/black/whoever else rights metaphor kind of makes that inevitable. If the X-men were an american right wing concept the whole thing would end up being written with Sentinels as the good guys and the X-men as well meaning but fundementally wrong.

i don't get why marvel thinks these land teasers are interesting. if anything, they just make me think of all the land hate & tracing discussions.

Who says they think they are interesting? They have done what they were ment for and that was to peak interest, we have 108 comics and that is just on these forums. Getting people talking is what they wanted, cus once you start to speculate about what something is you follow it till you find out.

I'm sorry if this is slightly off topic, but my wife mentioned that the teaser picture of the new male mutant "Sabretooth/Wildchild" looks like the character of Bob, from the tv series Twin Peaks.

He looks terrible. Fraction better make him work. If not, maybe Sabretooth can gut him after his resurrection.

I see the Twin Peaks/Bob in there, but Land wouldn't ever dip into anything that obscure for reference. No, this is probably just some google'd image of Triple H -- a double-stuff oreo for the first fan to track down the original reference photo!!

We could make Land acceptable again by making his books into drinking games! Find the photo reference online, take a shot -- something like that, though I suspect you'd end up with a very drunk bunch of fanboys.

I wanted to say something positive about Land -- I was going to go with 'he's good at referencing' -- not really a compliment, but it could be interpreted as so by someone not in-the-know...then I realized that he's failing in this task, as well -- he lacks the ability to GET AWAY WITH photo-referencing. I mean, c'mon -- how long has he been at this? By this point he should be a whiz. Instead, nearly every picture Marvel releases stinks of photo composition.

Probably because most of the photo's Land uses are posed subjects -- granted, there's a lot of that going on in comics, but this isn't the 90's anymore -- an entire issue of dramatic poses does not make for a great read. Occasionally, there needs to be something a little more natural going on to make the story flow properly, otherwise...

Land should just start photo-referencing from candid photography, or more obscure sources. Like old Wizard magazines....heh.
