Its Dinahs boxes..

thought boxes or what ever you want to call them used to be "hand written" but now its back to the boring yellow on black that we saw in JLA and GA/BC.
Its minor stuff like that that makes this feel less like BOP and more like ... something else

I haven't read Gail's run and based on what happened to my Russian and Greek peep I won't. Not that I'm boycotting Gail's work I was and am a huge fan and plus she is a very decent human being so I'd feel like a shit heel for walking away from her career. I'm just avoiding this particular book indefinitely.

I thought the blond character I'm referring to was born in Greece.

I'm enjoying it....questionable art choices in #2 regardless. I mean ...yeah there is some horrible art some have knocked (the scene where people joke...are they running or flying away ...and how do you all run in a straight line ?) . But I enjoy the story thus far and will keep pullin it.

I've really enjoyed it. I do see the point about Dinah's voice over looking the same as it did in every other book but I didn't find it very jarring at all. Maybe I'm just conditioned now.

I wish Huntress would go back to a full body suit, the bare-midriff bugs me a bit because she's such a practical fighter that it seems odd to me that she'd give anyone that kind of unprotected area. That's not enough to turn me off to the book or Gail's handling of Hel which I love, since she makes her a fully realized person as opposed to a crazy chick with a crossbow and lots of knives.

I'm enjoying BOP but I have to agree that it isn't quite at the level of the better issues of Gail's first run.

I've got faith that things will go from 7/10 to 9/10 in the near future. Gail has definately got something up those sleeves.

Gail has incredible quality consistancy and BOP won't be a let down.

I'm sure that there are more interesting new foes following in the steps of White Canary. Gail's first run introduced a lot of new characters and ideas to the series and the second run is bound to build on the BOP world.

I've heard the bare midriff was a colouring mix up? No idea if that's true or not.

Helena is one of my favourite DC characters, and I also love how Gail handles her. It's nice for her to have depth.

You're kidding, Lester.

Really?

Holy crap.

I'm sorry, but...can you really blame the guy for waiting to see whether two of his favourite characters are dead or not?

(POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

As a fan of obscure characters, albeit of much older vintage than Savant, I can see where he's coming from. Whenever I see the name Paul Dini on a new title, even after what he's done with Gotham City Sirens and now Zatanna, one of the first things that pops to mind is Countdown where in the very first issue one of my old faves was offed for the sake of a cheap plot hook. Didio said that particular death had meaning (actually, as I recall he said in an interview that the death didn't matter so much as why it was done ... which got under my skin) and would send ripples throughout the DCU ... I've seen more ripples on a Pringles chip, but at the time I followed along, like an idiot, to see where it went.

So, when the guys died in our last exciting episode of BoP I have to admit that my first gut reaction was, 'Oh God, here we go again' and they weren't even favorites of mine; two issues in and we have a pair of under-used characters killed off to provide angst and motivation for somebody else (i.e. Babs getting off her backside and using the grid to fight back). Now, unlike certain others, Gail, I still trust you to deliver when you say that there will be consequences for things and I certainly hope that the story is served very well indeed because we've all seen too much of the reverse.

I'm not kidding but I am adult enough to realize that every character is someone's favorite and it would tie your hands as a storyteller if you were forbidden to kill or put a character through the shit because someone out there is going to be pissed. I'm still going to support your non-Birds Of Prey work, as I think it is freaking amazing, and won't be going to any diatribes about how you ruined comics for me, destroyed my childhood or whatever else people say when they have an emotional overreaction at a favorite fictional character of theirs dying.

Why not? I think it would give this thread some penache!

I ranted repeatedly on many a message board over the War Crimes plot arc and ending and Cassandra Cain turning evil for no good reason. Ultimately both got undone. I don't know if all the ranting by many of us so called fanboys had any influence but I like to think so.
