A group with Bouncing Boy and Matter Eater Lad is fine but Tyroc gets your ire?

Right?

Though admittedly MEL and Bouncing Boy weren't nearly as racist as Tyroc.

But where's the fro? Why ditch the fro?!

I'm liking it in general but I still don't like some details like Ultra Boy's costume design.

Probably because he's one of the few Legionnaires that didn't get much love in the last two reboots so he's fairly untouched and seems almost new.

The whole racism undertones, for some reason, annoy me more than bouncing or super eating powers.

Yes, Heaven forbid they actually create something new. Insane idea, that.

im ok with tyroc, but do wish his costume was more of an homage to his original...at least silver or something...

This looks great! Last issue was great I thought, and this is looking just as good.

I wonder which Legionaire will become a Green Lantern? I don't think it's Earth-Man. I'm kind of hoping its a brand new character who becomes a Green Lantern. The September solicitation says it might be a new character, so thats what I'm hoping.

I can't wait to see the full issue!

I'd say it's a bit early to start complaining about the lack of new heroes. Considering Levitz has to establish the whole new status quo and reintroduce the current Legion (which isn't exactly short on characters), I wouldn't worry about new characters for a while yet. This is only the second issue, after all.

Excellent cover from Lee. He does a good job drawing an innocent Superboy with Krypto.

I really like I've seen from Levtiz and Cinar.

Shadow Girl broke up with Mon-EL, but why. I want to know why Shadow Lass broke up with him, when there was no inclination of any problems in Legion of 3 Worlds. It seems so out of left field, even for Levitz who really made this couple so strong. He made them so strong. I hope she is not pissed that Mon-el got Harper pregnant, oh 1,000 years before he met her. It sucks because they were such a strong couple. Legion has so much potential, but I hope we don't get an in continutiy X-Men forever like Legion

No one's commented on the variant cover yet?

Sweet jesus, that's one gorgeous piece of artwork. And I hope those that questioned Jimbo's current ability (after a lacklustre #1 cover) are eating their words right now...

If you're reading the Johnsboot Leigon you aren't really interested in new stuff by default.

"New stuff" would have been the Reboot Legion or the Shooter run of the Threeboot Legion.

The fans voted with thier feet on the latter.

The whole point of THIS Legion is to give the classic Legion fans thier Legion back (or as close to it is they can manage).

This works fine for me as I savagely hated nearly everything done with the Legion after The Magic Wars( O.K. I DID like Legionnares and have a kind respect for the Reboot Legion).

Yeah, well. I don't mind the Johnsboot Legion; I'm happy with whatever Legion is put in front of me. But the nostalgia factor doesn't do anything for me.

The good news is that Levitz, unlike Johns, isn't coming at this Legion from a position of nostalgia. Levitz seems to be emphasizing storytelling and craft, and I think that anybody who just wants to wallow in the '80s is going to be disappointed. Mon and Shady breaking up? This is just the beginning; don't get comfortable.
