Well I don't see a thread so here's one.
Just got back from seeing it.
Not to bad.The Dracula thing was kind of hooky,But All in all I enjoyed it.
And the Dogs freaky.Triple H did fairly well,Although not much more than we see in the ring.

I loved it. David Goyer did an excellent job connecting it to the second Blade, and wasn't this his directorial debut? if so he definitely did a good job. Hannibal King(Ryan Reynolds) was also very good. I havent seen him in much of anything lately other than Van Wilder and a few cameos. I loved his comedic relief I feel like he says the right things at the right times...his timing was off once but have just got to see it. Abigale Whistler(Jessica Biel) well I didnt think she was too great but...a definite upgrade from 7th Heaven and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. All in All it was a fantastic movie filled with a cast that had seemingly well chemistry. See it.

Loved everything except for the end where the end all solution didn't end all vampires  there were a few more things, but over all I enjoyed it. Blade, Abby and Hannibal rocked

DAMN fun movie.
The whole mofo lines were great, but Reynolds stole the show. Hilarious.

No it's not. His feature debut was a movie called ZigZag that came out a couple of years ago. Never seen it, but it was mentioned in an interview with Goyer, primarily because it starred Wesley Snipes and fetured Natasha Lyonne (who also appears in Blade Trinity).

The only disappointment I had was the part about the first vampire he was suppose to be the most powerful vampire ever but he was kinda weak. I didn't like the fact that Blade was able to fight him on an almost equal ground.

It was better than I thought it would be but I still prefer the first two Blades.
Dracula was lame though. Couldn't they have gotten a better actor?

It was OK, but as was said earlier, not as good as the first two films. The beginning was kind of poorly paced, the movie didn't really start pumping until the prison sequence. Although the Dark Knight Returns homages were cute.
I think they should have gone with the vampire future apocalypse story that Goyer had been talking about since the first Blade film. Would have had a lot more opportunities. I'm guessing budget nixed it. Was it me, or did this seem to be the cheapest of the Blade films? Felt like the fewest locations.

trinity gets an "ok" from me and that's about it. when you consider the first two... it just lacked. i couldn't stop wondering how there could be an entire vampire slaying mini-army without blade knowing about it. as someone said earlier, the pacing for the first 20 minutes was kinda off. i kept saying "too much story, not enough blade". dracula was... kinda... not good.

The movie was alright. I got to watch it for free so I didn't mind it so much. Just wasn't as good as the first. BTW: on the DVD release, there's a bonus scene where Hannibal and Abigail are shown 6 months after the movie ends and they hunt a werewolf. Here's the werewolf, although it's not a very good shot:

I thought this flick was garbage.
Jessica Beal? Who the hell was that character? Why were we supposed to care about her? Why do I need to see her 'innerangst' in the shower other than T&A. Why does she mop on on vampires kung-fu style when BLADE (the star) needs guns? And when she did the "Matrix" hand move... I almost walked out.
Dracula? What was THAT all about? The ONLY cool thing he did was rip up a Hot Topic store. And "Motherf**ker? Yes, I like that!" Who wrote this, a thriteen year old? And did anyone else notice it was THE EXACT SAME CLIMACTIC BATTLE From "Blade" 1?
Oh yeah... why was there almost NO BLADE?!?
Other Things That Sucked: Random blind chick. Parker Posey's brother... did that character even have lines? Why was he there. Jessica Beals IPOD... was that supposed to make her cool?
GOOD THINGS: HHH made one funny goon ("Have you seen my dog!"). Parker Posey's vampire was great.
I dont understand how Goyer made this crap, judigng from Blade 1 & 2... except that sometimes good directors are more important than writers.

I thought this flick was garbage.
Its funny, I thought it was just okay when I first saw it, but then I realized it was just the excitement of seeing Blade again (I had seen Blade 1 and 2 like a dozen times). Once that wore off, yeah, pretty much garbage. I wouldn't see it again except the DVD is supposed to have more footage, so I'll check that out.
Jessica Beal? Who the hell was that character?
Basically the standin for Rachel Van Helsing, as far as I can tell. That and Goyer wanted a tie to Blade's only supporting character, a successor, I guess. I thought it was funny how she did kinda favor Kris Kirstofferson(sp?), especially with the long hair. lol I also thought it was funny how she didn't seem to care he died or had any real connection to him other than biological. Seems like when Blade and Abigail went vampire hunting (when Drake infiltrated that place and killed everyone and kidnapped King), we could have seen them talk/bond more, maybe discuss a father/daughter moment her and Whistler had?
Why were we supposed to care about her? Why do I need to see her 'innerangst' in the shower other than T&A.
See, I thought that was Goyer revealing he had a foot fetish, since that's the only bare part of Biel we saw in the shower.
Why does she mop on on vampires kung-fu style when BLADE (the star) needs guns? And when she did the "Matrix" hand move... I almost walked out.
The pureblood/turned chism that was a big part of one and two was pretty much missing in this one, so we have to assume (since Goyer didn't say one way or the other) the purebloods were either no more or so few in number they might as well be extinct. So I'm guessing the reason she and King were able to "mop on" vampires so easily is because maybe strength degrades per "infection"? I mean those teen vampires she smoked in her first appearance seemed to be the strength level of regular humans.
Now that you mention it, since they were sword fighting and all.
But Drake had potential, I keep hearing how the writer of the novelization fleshed him out and actually made him seem like the main villain instead of another lackey of Danica. Speaking of which, I was dying to see a Danica vs Abigail fight, but...didn't happen. :(
Oh yeah... why was there almost NO BLADE?!?
Someone on the Blade board said (and I can't find verification of this so take it as you will), that Goyer DID write the "vampire apocalypse" treatment everyone's been hearing about, and Del Toro DID want to direct it, but New Line wanted the series to continue after Blade 3, so Del Toro went to Hellboy and Goyer created this crap instead. That's why it seems like one big advertisement for a Night Stalkers movie instead of an actual Blade sequel, and why Blade is pretty a supporting character in his own movie.
IF this is true...I'd be surprised if New Line is satisfied with B:T's numbers, I mean it wasn't a flop but it still didn't make more than Blade 2, even worldwide, so hopefully this means a Night Stalkers movie is out the question and they'll eventually do the vampire apocalypse story. And, well, if Goyer has little to no involvement.
Other Things That Sucked: Random blind chick. Parker Posey's brother... did that character even have lines? Why was he there. Jessica Beals IPOD... was that supposed to make her cool?
The iPod thing really annoyed me, too, as well as Drake's whole infiltration scene. Seems Goyer should have thought up a better way to make him seem creepy. And he still didn't, killing off a bunch of no-names as Whistler seemed to defeat the point.
GOOD THINGS: HHH made one funny goon ("Have you seen my dog!"). Parker Posey's vampire was great.
I liked how Blade did the same move on Grimwood: punch, punch, kick, at two points in the movie. lol Grimwood's fight with King was ridiculously unbelievable, but yeah, HHH made a good goon.
I dont understand how Goyer made this crap, judigng from Blade 1 & 2... except that sometimes good directors are more important than writers.
Yeah, directors have final say-so on EVERYTHING, including the writing. So any crap in the script the director sees, he/she can fix on shooting day. For instance, it was Norrington's idea to make Quinn somewhat comical (what with Blade cutting off both his hands and different points), and it was Del Toro's idea to bring Whistler back, cause he knew Blade needed an equally strong screen presence opposite him.
Well, when you're writer AND director, any crap in your script doesn't get checked, it goes on the screen. Well, potentially, anyway, since there are plenty of instances elsewhere where if one is doing both jobs they're very meticulous to triple check their stuff.
I'm kinda skeptical about him on Flash, but Reynolds fit the role, and I guess he can't screw up TOO badly...

I thought Reynolds was one of the few bright spots this movie had going for it. Jessica Biel was nice to look at, but she didnt really impress me with this outing. Ditto on Snipes.
Triple H did a good job as being essentially, a thug.
The script was pretty horrible.
And the guy who played Dracula just didnt evoke DRACULA to me. He looked like a pornstar to be perfectly honest. Wasnt impressed with him, nor was I impressed or awed by the fight scene between him and Blade.
Seemed like the fight between Blade and Frost was more of a fight than this one.
Oh well. It was alright. But not better than the first two.

In my previous rant, I didnt give Ryan Reynolds the props he deserved for being a great comic relief sidekick. he was on point!

See, this is the one thing I'm in the minority on, as I couldn't stand Ryan's constant one-liners. It was like his character from Two Guys and A Girl got slightly smarter and started fighting vampires. I get that he was supposed to be the new "strong screen presence opposite Wesley", but it failed because Blade never really said anything back to him. In the book, King jokingly calls Blade Blackula and Blade knocks him the eff out, saying don't call me that again. If they had put that one scene in the movie, it would have went up a few points to me and made King's character more tolerable.
Ah well.

Actually, Blade says, "Call me that again, I'll give you f***ing brain damage!" Not to nitpick.
Yeah, the novelization goes very in depth as far as Drake is concerned. He's reminiscing about his battles and how vampires started to come about from him, and later, how they started exhibiting the weaknessed he never had. Plus him and Danica did it like they do on the Discovery Channel! :D
As for Drake infiltrating their headquarters as Whistler, I think their security is programmed to only allow certain people. Perhaps it's based on video recognition, and if the system saw Whistler, it would let him in.

1) If Drake was so badass, he wouldn't need to do that, he'd be too quick for the camera anyway
2) Even allowing that, why STAY in Whistler's form once he made it inside?

One thing that confused me is whether the guy Snipes plays is a full vamp or just a made one. and that injection thing that he does. What happens when that stops working. Will he have to kill ppl. I know these questions aren't from Trinity but they always bugged me.

Blade is half-vampire. His mother was bitten by a vampire while she was pregnant. The injection is a serum he needs to take to supress his thirst.

Yeah I know his mom was bitten by a vamp when she was pregnant but I didn't know whether it made him full-blood or half. And the serum gets increasingly less effective so I wonder if he'll have to turn towards ppl for his need for blood.
