Are they slowing them down because they will soon catch up to the current series?

I thought i read something about the timing of the next one ... but i dont recall where ... also i recall hearing about BPRD being re-collected in a different format
if anyone has a source they can point to it would be appreciated

I believe it's scheduled for sometime at the end of the year...but don't quote me!!!

Thanks CBM, hopefully that comes true! I love these releases!
I wonder how they are they gonna collect the upcoming LE's? Will Crooked Man be with Troll Witch and Darkness Calls be with the Wild Hunt (that would be a huge one. 14 issues if I recall correctly. Though I guess it would be 12 if they don't include the backups from TWH)? If so, I wonder what they will collect The Storm and the Fury with?
There is so much stuff pouring out of the Hellboy Uni. Me loves it!

I love the quality of the Lib Eds. Of the tpb's with the extra's too. And frankly also of the vividly presented single comics. They're all like Christmas.

^^^ I'm mostly tired of gluing my old TPB's back together and want a better copy.

I've heard of this a lot, but I've never had it happen to me...
...knock on wood.

happened to me a few times, with a BPRD trade and at least one HB one. Witchfinder was delayed due to binding issues with Amazon, too.

That sucks. Does Dark Horse replace the trades if they fall apart?. I've heard that humidity may mess with the glue in the spines.

Sucks indeed. Usually I like buying my books through shops instead of big online chains, because shops may inspect their copies (once more) before selling.
Damage or weak books aren't necessarily because of it being a bad product, but somewhere something'll have gone wrong. Like paper getting too hot or too cold, too humid or too dry. Leaving stuff to wrinkle, stick or not stick enough.
Usually shops both as publishers offer service as best they can. If you got bad books through Amazon, maybe they should replace them?
My only trouble ever was with comics stapled or cut crooked. All my Dark Horse books are good, although I noticed upon purchase I must handle my Art of Hellboy SC with great care. Good thing I bought the HC later on .

I love the contents of my Hellboy, B.P.R.D. and related trades, but the books are not made well. A couple of mine have fallen apart. Even my Art of Hellboy, which I have only looked through a few times.
Edit: The hardcovers seem very well made, but I find them a bit cumbersome. I'd love to see the individual TPBs offered in a bound hardover form at regular size.

After looking up cumbersome
(2/3 of a cucumber and then -some? - ohh - heavy/bulky eh? YAY I learned a word ) I say:
Yes, cumbersome they are. Like you need a coffee-table to be reading them.
However I feel to like that about them: I need an empty good bit of desktop for them, so I'll be handling those books better than in bed, the train or the tub. An example:
I'm reading a BPRD issue last summer on a bit of a hot day, it may have been a Sunday :-] .
The phone rings, important call. During the phone conversation I hold the comic between the fingers of one hand, so I may pick up exactly where I left off as soon as my Mom will hang up :-l .
She does and I do (no we did not get married!) and ---
on the cover where my fingers have been resting, printing ink had been coming off or up onto my fingers. Now Abe's head looks like he's Johann :-/ .
But yeah. Much coveted books might get to wear like favorite pants I guess.
I wear... And I'm 35. Not to mention gorgeous! :- .
So I can really like the Lib Eds. For keeping them nice at least, without having to be all stressed and tedious about the other ones for wearing. Thanks to them I can relax and take it eeeesy !-)

Actually a DH person on this board replaced them free of charge and sent extras for my troubles. And yeah, I live in FLA so humid. BUt my trades from Marvel DC and other Dark Horse stuff hold up fine, it seems to be just the HB stuff.
Excellant was pondering the trades but would MUCH rather have the Library Edition.

Just read this on Scott Allie's twitter: "No, vol 4 will be Troll Witch & Crooked Man, so all Duncan's arcs can be consecutive in vols 5 & 6."
So I guess that explains the delay. I wonder if they'll move the story The Mole into volume 5 between Darkness Calls and The Wild Hunt?

The library editions are definitely worth it even if you have the TPB's already
The artwork on large pages comes out beautifully.
These editions are the reason for reading hellboy IMO

So, vol.4 gets the Troll Witch & Others and the Crooked Man trades. vol.5 would then be Darkness Calls and the Wild Hunt. Thats pretty smart.

Awesome! Me too - I was so happy to see/purchase the Hellboy Library editions. I have been collecting Hellboy/ BPRD for some time. Here is my latest thing: I had the individual issues bound! (I think my desktop "photo_booth" may have flipped the photo of the interior)
Oversewn stitching + original comics - awesomeness! I just received it back from the binder's last week -- I had the binder try to match the black linen cover. I still intend on finding some awesome Guy Davis drawing on the internet to use/paste on as the front card to create my very own BPRD Library edition -- maybe I should even try to commission one? Certainly, it's not oversized like the Hellboy HC's, but these will never fall apart like the Dark Horse tpb's.
The oversewn stitching eats a tiny bit of the interior margin/gutter, but otherwise, it's a pretty awesome end product. I'm re-reading it right now!
I've included 1946, the Killing Ground through to the end of King of Fear, and the non Hellboy extras from the Hellboy free comic book day. Now, off to start the next project: I'm waiting for the latest round of Duncan Fegredo Hellboy's to wrap up, and then I'll send them all off (Darkness Calls/Wild Hunt/Storm and Fury) to the binder as well.

That looks great, Doc T! I've only recently learned of having comics bound and the results look really good. Thanks for posting the pics.
