Holy crap! This was a fun book!

I think that Palmiotti/Gray/Conner saved their best for last, frankly. I'd have to read the whole run at once to be sure. But I was laughing SO hard at some of the stuff in this issue. And Conner's art was ... "gorgeous" doesn't even come close to doing it justice.

Kara starts off with Terra, in her world, in some tiny little bathing suit that apparently allows one to experience emotions, without the walls that we humans generally place around ourselves.

It's a really sweet scene when Kara meets Terra's parents, and the whole thing is lovingly drawn by Amanda Conner.

There's the return of Vartox, this time with a twist. And I was laughing hysterically at this section.

PG deals with work, and some of the concerns there.

Also, a lot of other characters from this wonderful run show up at one point or another.

It's SO great. If DC came out with an Absolute Edition of this run, I'd buy it in a heart-beat. DC, if you're listening, PLEASE come out with at least a deluxe HC!

A+ all the way.

If I didn't ship PG/Terra before, I sure do now.

Awww, Peej met Terra's family. Now they just need to say their ~I dos.~!

The cat scene was so much love.

I have a cat that looks just like him! I was in heaven. :)

Great issue, loved how Vartox made an appearance and found it funny that Terra's dad is some kind of rock monster.

Agreed. This was THE BEST PeeGee run since Giffen's JLI...

Palmiotti/Gray/Conner proved that you don't need a hyper-mega-yearly event to have an awesome story, that great stories don't have to be all about earth-shattering situations all the time, and that even the most menial situations of a "normal" life can provide incredible depth and be highly entertaining....

Their run of this book started in a epic way, and is finishing in a high note, and I can only say that this was my favorite book the last 12 months.

I will really miss this team, and I hope that the new creative team remember that they have HUGE shoes to fit, for Power Girl can be considered for sure one of the best comic books out in the market right now...

A great issue. It was some fun mixed with some fights mixed with some downtime. And it was certainly entertaining. The moment between Terra and PG was lovely, and the scenes with her newly-named cat were adorable. We got to see some closure to her work problems and kid problems, and cameos from the amusing Vartox and the space-weirdos from Vega 9. It was a wonderful read in a great run, and I'm sorry it's ended. Hat's off the Graymiotti, Amanda, and Paul Mounts.
The art was gorgeous as usual. The visuals, the facial expressions, the background people; all brilliant. The colouring really makes this book shine that extra bit.

Now for the somewhat negative bits; The solit for the issue All the pieces of the puzzle come together as Power Girl faces friend and foe in the no-holds-barred climax of the Ultra-Humanite's mad grab for control of Earth!; that didn't happen. At all. Not even nearly. I dislike when solits are untrue. It also implies the issue was very rushed. An actual story wasn't really told in the issue, just lots of incidental things. Satanna's scene here was unnecessary, and without Graymiotti writing her I doubt she'll ever be seen again. Vartox, though funny, was also rather pointless. There was a great sense of final-issue-ness to the whole thing, whereas I would have prefered PG spend the issue saving the day in some epic way. Now, I did like the issue, it was a great read, but it wasn't really the bang I was hoping the team would go out on. Still, it's a great book, and this was a great issue.

I have to agree. It felt kind of slap-dashed together and a little rushed. Like most, I'm very antsy about Winnick taking over, but I was rather impressed with the first two issues of Generation Lost, even if he jjust CO-wrote them.

It's WINICK. One "N" only.

Winick.

Generation Lost has also put me more at ease about Winick. It won't be the same as the first team, but hopefully it'll work out fine. Whatever happens, I'll never ever drop this book.

Well, that was kind of a problem I had. Sometimes, it just dragged and a few of the plots, while fun, seemed kinda dull. Like I personally wouldn't have brought back Santanna and Ultra-Humanite so soon.

Terras world has a lot of hugging...

What's wrong with that? If anything it's a much needed balance to amount of punches seen in comics...

Ugh. This was their big send-off ? Half the issue was just excuses to get Kara in various states of undress. The rest of it was mindless filler. Totally felt like they just phoned in this script.

Here's hoping the next team does something different.

Maybe I'm overthinking this, but if Vartox world has no sex, how/why could he cheat with some ones wife...?

Not a Santana fan?

Well, I thought it was well balanced, not rushed at all... And Satanna's being duped after having her own words used against her was frikking hilarious...

I have to disagree. This has been one of the most consistently EXCELLENT books of the last 12 months. Solid, funny, storytelling, and some of the best sequential panels today.

Took me a few days to find a copy of #12 since it's selling out in many of the shops around Boston.

I thought it was a solid issue, every bit of it staying true to the last 11. Really sad to see Amanda Conner go - her art made Power Girl come alive for me, even in the face of occasionally weak writing, which is something I just don't experience enough with current DC title. Whatever project she moves to is going to be an instant buy for me.

As far as I'm concerned, Winick and his team have got some big boots to fill.

I'm givin Winick and team their first arc to try and keep me on the book. I have loved the last 12 issues, and I'm not sure if they can write Power Girl with the same charm and magic in my eyes.

We will see soon enough I guess.

Who is DC kidding? This is the normal pathway DC takes before a book is cancelled. Put a crappy writer, watch the sales plummet and then the book disappears from the shelves.

It's at 20K now, #91 out of the Top 100. Winnick sucks, but he's not exactly taking over a major title.

We agree to disagree on that. I think that PeeGee #12 finished the first arc in a high note.

I will give the new creative team a chance, and hopefully, they will not steer the book too far from the path set on these first 12 issues.
