'Gail Simone egotist'
I kid you not. No idea why it found my blog (although I've mentioned Gail once or twice), but I have this function were I can review the methods in which folk land on my blog's pages and this was included in a catchment for the last few days.
So what's that about?
I only wish they'd left a comment. Mostly I get spam, which is amusing to read ('I am glad to make acquaintance with your ideas sexy time casinos') but still just spambots spammin'.

THAT is the most out-of-left-field search that has ever led to my blog.
I think...

Because in this post: http://www.somnopolis.net/2009/11/17/linkara-so-funny-youll-spit/ you mention "Gail Simone" and "egotists."

Hmm...is there a Windows 7 ad with a British girl in it? I know I've seen one with a cute French girl.
I haven't had too many really strange ones. But a single mention of "Disney's Gargoyles" has gotten me more search engine hits than anything actually related to my comics. People sure love them gargoyles.

Just mention 'Yvonne Strahovski', the Australian actress who stars in Chuck.
It's like catnip to them, biggest hits I've ever had.

the number one search term for my blog is "iron man," by a huge amount.
thankfully "cthulhu," "funny hamsters," "yankee stadium," "elvis" and "mead" are all still in there.

My current top searches (for my blog mylivefriendspacebookster (http://mylivefriendspacebookster.com) are:
the witches of breastwick cast, girl named haley modern family, jail strip shower, hack slash, modern family gloria white dress
I get a couple of spam posts a day. Luckily, my filter always catches them, because I don't have moderated comments turned on. I've noticed how creative these spam posts get. Many of them look like they could be real posts. They'll say something like "This is an awesome blog" or "I may not always agree, but I respect your opinion." So if you don't pay attention to whom is posting it, you might not always recognize that it's spam.

Way back in the Stone Age (2002), I wrote an essay (http://www.monkeyspit.net/rantman/searching.php) about the weird terms people were searching for when they landed at Monkey Spit. In fact, I actually created a page specifically to capture people who were searching for "Britney Spears nude" (http://www.monkeyspit.net/rantman/britney.php). It doubled our traffic.
The weirdest search term that found us was "questions answers life god truth love nude"....
