Was it any good? Particularly pertaining to it's story.

Hmmmm, in short; no, not really. Most of it made no sense and had mostly boring and/or pointless stories. There were one or two good ones in there. IMO the Citizen Steel, Wildcat jr. and Amazing Man stories were entirly not good, and aside from the Cyclone story (which I quite liked) the rest was very meh. If you do pick it up, get it from a bargin bin, coz it wasn't worth the $5.99.

I remember reading it and thinking "why does Amazing Man even have a story here?"

JSA, since Johns has left it, has gone completely into the crapper. And with them splitting the team up into two, it's gotten there twice-over.

Oh yeah, I hear both Bill and Matt's run have picked up lately.

Bill's? Yes.
All-Stars is a bit of a mess. Some of the worst dialogue outside of Robinson.

That's a shame, I thought Dialogue was one of his strong points. He done it really well in Blue Beetle.

Maybe the JSA has too many voices in it.

I'll check them out in trade when they hit.

I like the current JSA story, and I LOVE JSA, but I don't like the All-Star current series.

Never read it.

But JSA: All-stars is probably the best Team Book from DC that I'm reading.

It was a little rough in the beginning, but I felt that by the end it was a lot more enjoyable. Plus, I got it in a dollar bin, so that made it even more fun!

Thanks guys. I was wondering about getting it in the first place because I love the JSA comic - especially since the split. I dropped ALL-Stars, and it seems like the JSA 80-pager is All-Stars centric, so I wanted to see the respones regarding it. They've helped. Thanks.

Guess I'll wait until I've read my Batman, Superman, and JLA 80-pagers. Been kinda behind.

80 page Giant - Completely skippable.

Seriously, not worth it at all.

Yeah, I read that 80-page Giant twice, and I'm still not sure what happened. It was like the editor threw the finished pages down a staircase and put them back together in random order.

Willingham's JSA started out rough, but I've enjoyed the last three issues. His dialogue is still slightly wrong in places, like the latest issue where Wonder Woman said "Huh." I gave up on All-Stars after the first issue because the Freddie artwork hurt my eyes. I realize that the current storyline there features one of my favorite JSA villains, but I just can't deal with the art.
