There has been a great deal of contention over the Black Marvel families popularity causing DC to give up on the Marvel Family.IMO The seduction of Mary Marvel was primarily brought on because DC mistakenly thought they could mirror the Black Marvel's success onto the Marvel family.
This did not work and has in general made most Captain Marvel fans hate the Black Marvel family. I'm of the belief that DC should not have a one or the other mindset but should combine both families as it would create an interesting dynamic and save the franchise.
If you had to choose one or the other who should DC choose to move forward with.

I like the first one. They look nice.
I love the original Marvel Family but I think they work best in their original time period (40's/50's) with limited interaction with a few other heroes like Plastic Man!

Black Adam, I find the character more interesting than Captain Marvel & family.

I think the Black Adam/Marvel is ascetically more pleasing as well as more interesting but I would rather not be forced into only having one be focused on since they work as foils for one another

I can understand why DC would want to focus on family over the other but playing them against each other is the only way they will both benefit from it. Personally I prefer Black Adam but I do acknowledge that without the Marvel family there would be no Black Marvel family.

I love the original Marvel Family. I think it's a sad commentary on the state of comics (and perhaps readership) that characters with a touch of whimsy, characters that are optimistic and fun and angst-free are not deemed viable and so are being forced to either disappear to to be turned into someone grim, dark, arrogant and violent. That is not what the Marvels are about, never was, and that is why the whole "Black Mary" deal was a disaster almost from the get-go (and the more DC pushed it the worse it got). That is exactly the type of character you don't try that with.
I like Black Adam but he is a VILLIAN, Billy Batson is a HERO. And we are talking about super-hero comics. Even if Teth blurs the lines sometimes, he will never be what Billy is again, that's why Teth was vanquished by the Wizard and why Billy was chosen (among all the people who have walked the Earth since BA) to be the Champion of Shazam. Taking this away and making Black Adam the primary character in the franchise just puts a wrecking ball to a mythos that is almost as old as Superman's.

I like the Black Marvel family, but they have gotten more emphasis lately. In some ways, since Black Adam showed up in JSA. He's a very tragic character, which I enjoy reading about.
I'd like to be into the Captain Marvel family, but not enough has been done recently (or well) to make me want a new book centered on them. I loved the concept of Mary going bad, but it really didn't work for me in the execution.
To me, DC needs a good pitch to revamp them. Billy, Mary and Freddie could be great given their history. I'd like to see their teen aspects and those challenges played up everything bit as much as battling some villain in their heroic transformations.
I'm curious as to what is the downside of being able to transform into an adult or a superpowered teenager with merely a word might be for these particular characters.
Given some interesting stories, plots and characterization, I could find them as complex and interesting as Black Adam, Isis and Osiris.

The thing is the Black Marvel family come off as a tragic family which in turn makes the reader care about them and their story. The Marvel family are almost the exact opposite of this. They should be like hourman/liberty belle to the Black Marvel's Damage.
The Marvel family has been perfect up until the seduction storyline with Mary that failure should be an example of what not to do to the Marvel family.

Definitely the Marvel Family. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the Black Marvel Family as well, especially the relationship between Osirus and Isis which is rather unique to comics. But comics nowadays is FILLED with dysfunctional families, Captain Marvel, like Superman, is meant to be about pure heart and innocence, which of course won't rock everyone's boat but with all the flawed, tragic, characters out there, they are a much needed balance. So definitely have them come back, the DC needs them.
One of the worst things DC ever did was turn Black Adam into the 'DC Wolverine'. Maybe someday an editor with some guts will banish him back to villainhood where he belongs.

If Black Adam were the "DC Wolverine," he'd be in three or four team series and have at least two ongoings of his own. Hell, he's not even like Wolverine in temperament. And no, the best thing DC ever did was turn a one-note one-shot villain into a fleshed out character that people actually care about. Thankfully, DC is not stupid enough to undo that.
