Hi guys,
Not sure if anyone has come up with this before (okay, probably lots of people have) but still.
Doctor Who now has a comic! Unfortunately, the art really puts me off. Still, I think this means it is possible to have a crossover between GL and DW, rebooted series. I think the David Tennant Doc would work best, since he has the most fleshed out character. Martha was my favourite companion, but Rose would be good too.
Writers: Pete Tomasi and Tony Lee (Dr Who writer)
Artist: Ivan Reis
I'm not much of an ideas guy, but here's a brief pitch:
Lanterns Kyle and Guy are sent to a space sector which appears to be having some strange temporal effects. This is due to the TARDIS, which, malfunctioning as usual, has the teleporter boggled up and is attempting to enter a parallel universe, that being the DC one.
With the injection of the energy from the two rings, it pulls into the par universe, along with three Daleks (or a couple hundred Cybermen if you like). Guy and Kyle are sent to the Dr. Who universe in return, with their rings rapidly running out of power. Upon entering the DC uni, The Doctor instantly receives a GL ring. It attempts to drag him to Oa, but using the screwdriver, he disables it. The guardians find out, and freak out, sending Hal and John to see what's up. Meanwhile, the Daleks appear far away, and all three are chosen for the Sinestro Corp. Impressed by the rings, they decide to exterminate the Sinestro Corp to have the power exclusively for themselves.
The Doctor is highly suspicious of the GL Corp, with their insistence on demanding membership, and attempts to evade Hal and John when they arrive, setting the course for Oa to see what's what.
Kyle and Guy make their way to Earth, just in time to run into a Sontaran invasion of Earth. They now have three hours to stop it, or their charges run out. Unfortunately, U.N.I.T. is convinced they are the attackers. They run into Sarah Jane and her team (hey, what can I say, I like her) and work together a plan to stop the invasion and to return home.
Doctor and Guardians on relatively good terms, with some prodding from Martha, they are approached by Arkillo (Sinestro would never ask for help) seeking assistance in stopping the Daleks (post-BN alliance still in power), who have killed dozens of lanterns of all colors.
Anyway, after the Green Lantern movie comes out, I'm sure a well made comic like that could sell at least 200K, if sold in Britain simultaneously and advertised after the show itself. What do you guys think?
