Hi guys,
Not sure if anyone has come up with this before (okay, probably lots of people have) but still.

Doctor Who now has a comic! Unfortunately, the art really puts me off. Still, I think this means it is possible to have a crossover between GL and DW, rebooted series. I think the David Tennant Doc would work best, since he has the most fleshed out character. Martha was my favourite companion, but Rose would be good too.

Writers: Pete Tomasi and Tony Lee (Dr Who writer)
Artist: Ivan Reis

I'm not much of an ideas guy, but here's a brief pitch:
Lanterns Kyle and Guy are sent to a space sector which appears to be having some strange temporal effects. This is due to the TARDIS, which, malfunctioning as usual, has the teleporter boggled up and is attempting to enter a parallel universe, that being the DC one.

With the injection of the energy from the two rings, it pulls into the par universe, along with three Daleks (or a couple hundred Cybermen if you like). Guy and Kyle are sent to the Dr. Who universe in return, with their rings rapidly running out of power. Upon entering the DC uni, The Doctor instantly receives a GL ring. It attempts to drag him to Oa, but using the screwdriver, he disables it. The guardians find out, and freak out, sending Hal and John to see what's up. Meanwhile, the Daleks appear far away, and all three are chosen for the Sinestro Corp. Impressed by the rings, they decide to exterminate the Sinestro Corp to have the power exclusively for themselves.

The Doctor is highly suspicious of the GL Corp, with their insistence on demanding membership, and attempts to evade Hal and John when they arrive, setting the course for Oa to see what's what.

Kyle and Guy make their way to Earth, just in time to run into a Sontaran invasion of Earth. They now have three hours to stop it, or their charges run out. Unfortunately, U.N.I.T. is convinced they are the attackers. They run into Sarah Jane and her team (hey, what can I say, I like her) and work together a plan to stop the invasion and to return home.

Doctor and Guardians on relatively good terms, with some prodding from Martha, they are approached by Arkillo (Sinestro would never ask for help) seeking assistance in stopping the Daleks (post-BN alliance still in power), who have killed dozens of lanterns of all colors.

Anyway, after the Green Lantern movie comes out, I'm sure a well made comic like that could sell at least 200K, if sold in Britain simultaneously and advertised after the show itself. What do you guys think?

I don't think it will happen, DC isn't in the multi company crossover mode especially mixing its highest seller with one of IDW's middling sellers. Secondly, the BBC are extremely paranoid about using 'past' doctors and companions in any media. After The Forgotten the beeb put a stop to using past doctors beyond reprints meaning you couldn't have Ten. I do wish we could get a Ten/Rose mini series, preferably by Amanda Conner if they could afford her. Those two were uber-cute.

If the Green Lanterns are going to crossover with any other media franchise, I'd rather it were the Jedi.

doctor who green lantern would be so amazing. yet corny. it would have to be written by dan slott, the biggest doctor who fan /comic writer around.

and drawn by mike allred (retro kirby style) or guy davis.

have you seen the new series yet? 2 episodes down and its as good or maybe better than the david tennant stuff. no joke.

I always kept my fingers crossed for a Doctor Who-Booster Gold crossover.

I'd read a Doctor Who/GL crossover, I bet it'd be awesome. Really any Doctor Who crossover would be great, I loved the old Doctor Who/ Star Trek TOS fan novel, I could see GL being that awesome.

The BBC may have gotten more tolerant because the current Doctor Who on-going is the tenth doctor.

Unless they're letting IDW finish up what they already had planned.

Yeah, they've definitely made references to the past doctors since Forgotten, in the tesseract we saw the Doctor using various clothing items from the past incarnations.

If you're going to do a Dr. Who crossover, the only writer who makes any sense at all is Paul Cornell! The guy who writes award winning Dr. Who episodes, Dr. Who novels, Dr. Who comics, Captain Britain, and Action Comics!

Matt is definitely giving an excellent delivery, and I love Amy (and Karen, her actress, of course). Unfortunately, the writing isn't quite there yet, imo. But the Dalek/Churchill episode will hopefully put that to sleep. Very exciting.

Seen the first two episodes and am quite impressed. I agree with those who said the writing was quite up to standard, but neither were the first few episodes of Eccleston and Tennant. I expect the series will start hitting its stride soon, perhaps as early as the next episode.

As for the topic of this thread.... really, I'd read a DCU/DW crossover no matter what. It doesn't have to be with the Green Lanterns, but I'd take it.

IDW had nothing for the eleventh Doctor in tune with their lead in time. There are pictures of the artist developing the character from paparazzi set photos because the beeb gave him nothing! Tony Lee confirmed that no past Doctors will appear in IDW outside of their reprints.

This is what immediately came to my mind as well.

If they can give us a Transformers/Avengers crossover, why not a G.I. Joe/Secret Six one?

Really? I thought the writing was the one thing that had drastically improved. I found The Beast Below much more compelling and convincing than most of the other 'Future UK' episodes we've seen in the current series.

A Booster Gold/Doctor Who crossover would be fantastic. :)

Since Neil Gaiman said a while ago that he'd be writing an episode of Who for next season, I wonder if it would be possible to somehow pursuade Grant Morrison (who is Scottish, of course) to write one? Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to have an internet presence...

I sent a message to Dan Phillips who has interviewed Grant on IGN a few times, asking if he'd suggest it next time they talk. I think if you guys also send such a message, he'd be more inclined. It's for a good cause!
