I'm just curious is anyone here has ever had a letter published in the letters page (when their indeed, was one) of a comic book. I am actually 1 for 1 in the printed letter game. I was able to see print in Amazing Spider-Man #420! The geek in me came shining through when I was reading the letters and came across my letter!
Anyone else?

Oh, sure. Quite a few, actually. I'm surprised I can't remember the first comic in which I had a letter printed, but I believe it was Amazing Spider-man #201. It was definitely not the first letter I sent in to a comic book, either. Very early on, however, I received replies to many of my letters. Some of them were just postcards from an assistant editor or some such, but I did receive a nice letter from Roger Stern once. It wasn't very long, but it meant the world to me. Still have it (somewhere).

I've had 1 printed. It was in an issue of the Avengers. Dont remember the issue off hand, it was rite after Busiek/Perez left.
I was also in a comic, or at least my name was, in an issue of Elvira.

Didn't Busiek get a letter printed in a comic when he was a kid?
Anyone know the issue?

Two, count 'em two letters. One was in an X-Book and the other was in a Stan Soapbox. Dying to get into another letters column. Most likely outside of Marvel.

I know one of them was Uncanny X-Mne #143. I came across it awhile back on accident. Here it is in case anyone's interested.
To the Editor:
I have a complete collection of X-MEN. My first issue was 337. Sice then, I've been an avid fan of the book through the old and new teams. But #138 is my last issue. I quit.
The change from the old X-Men to the new X-Men was fairly simple to adjust to, because the book was still excellently scripted and drawn. But for the past two years (since #113) I've watched the book degenerate, watched the X-Men become a perversion of what they once were, watched you twist and mangel characters you virtually created.
I first decided to stop buying during the "Hellfire Club" storyline, but held on for sentimental reasons and a vague hope that things would get better. During the "Dark Phoenix" story, I again decided to quit, but upon hearing what the conclusion would be, decided to stick around 'till Cyclops left. And now, I can no longer justify buying the X-MEN, not even to keep my collection complete. Each issue hurts too much.
I love the X-Men, and if you treated them as they deserve, I would still be a faithful supporter, but until matters change, you've lost yourself a reader.
-Kurt Busiek
There was also a response.
I'm sorry you feel that way you do, Kurt. Unfortunately, one person's "Dark Age" is another's "Renaissance." What you saw as a perversion of the book and it's characters, others saw as some of the finest issues in the series. We do our best to make our readers happy (a logical course of action, considering that if they become unhappy, they wouldn't read the book and it - and we - wouldn't be here) but the way we do that is by trusting our own instincts and abilities. So long as we who produce these books - all comics, not simply X-MEN- are creative humans, not programmable "robots," that's the way it has to be , for better or worse. Hopefully, for better.

It's not that uncommon in Marvel. I know Astonishing X-Men, Marvel Team-Up, and Avengers all have letters pages (dunno about NEW Avengers, though).
Yes.
I've had two letters printed in Captain Marvel; one letter printed in Avengers (volume 3); two letters printed in X-Men: The Hidden Years.
I want to get my letters printed in Uncanny X-Men.

Quesada recently returned the letters pages; they have been on hiatus for most of his tenure though.

Yeah, that's it! I knew I owned one of them. I'll have to dig it up and read with my own eyes.
Cheers!

I've had two: an issue of X-Factor, where I "revealed" that Nathan Summers is actually Cable, and X-Men #69, where I "revealed" that Bastion was actually Nimrod and Master Mold fused by the Siege Perilous.

I had one in "Knights of the Dinner Table" years ago. I think it was #28, but I could be wrong. Someone else had written in previously complaining about what terrible role models one fictional group of roleplayers, called "The Black Hands," were. My rebuttal said that I'd never dreamed anyone was reading those comics and expecting "role model" behavior, especially not from the extremely dysfunctional group of the Black Hands.

I had a letter published in Peter Parker The Spectacular Spiderman back when I was 14. I even won a no-prize with the letter :)

Beat ya by two issues, Gear. :) I'm in #418, bitching about the plethora of annoying female enemies Spidey was fighting at the time (Scorpia, Delilah, Joystick, etc).
Only other one I can remember is an issue of UXM where I complimented them on the Sabretooth-guts-Psylocke issue.

My only printed letter was in an issue of Dan Schaffer's " Dogwitch " from Sirius Comics . And it was my gf who called me at work to tell me " Your letter got printed ! " and yeah , I giggled like a schoolgirl . I'm sad that that fine book is ending with #18 .
Other than that , I sent in a lot of doctored comic book trading cards to the late , great Cards Illustrated sister magazine to Hero Illustrated , years ago that were printed . If anyone has those 1st 4 or 5 issues , I'm " Mike Tabor from La Mesa , Ca . "
So y'all are basically a bunch of narcisistic asskissers? :p :D

Marvel usually tells you where to send letters at on the letters pages themselves.

Ya I saw that on Marvel Team-Up #7 I was just wondering if I had to say in the letter to Marvel Team-Up or they would just figure it out.

I not only had a letter printed but I single-handedly brought about a change!
lol
I had a letter printed in the old Cloak & Dagger series. At that time, Dagger was blind and I pointed-out how a form of vision impairment must run in the family, because there was an issue where Tandy (Dagger) was wearing a RED shirt that said "Celtics" & "33" (Larry Bird) I commented that, whoever bought her that shirt must have been color-blind if they thought it was GREEN (as a Celtics shirt should be...yes, I'm from Boston..as I pointed out to Terry Austin at that time)
Anyway...
He sent me a nice postcard with his response (the same that was eventually printed in a later issue) and...in a smart-guy fashion...stated that they were going to "fix" the mistake but...were they going to change the coloring? Nope...they took out ALL references to the Celtics and just made it a plain red shirt!

I got printed in Young Avengers #2. It was a very enthusiastic letter. A bit embarassing, but I felt I had some good things to say.

My only letter printed was in Overstreet's Monthly Price Guide they used to have. I dont remember the number but it had Ninjak on the cover. I have it in my bookshelf somewhere. Anyhow it was about how Valiants were harder to find due to no newstand contract.(I was in college cut me some slack. :p )

I've written a couple of letters...
but have never had any published.
I did however receive a short reply from Howard Mackie, who told me to 'keep on reading as his run was only going to get better and better.'

When I write a letter, I cite the exact issue # & mention the writer & artist. Also to be printed you have to say somewhere on your letter "okay to print" in order to be published.
I also edit my letter myself to check for grammar errors, misspelled words, & substantive content mistakes before I mail my letter off. The less editing an editor has to do with a letter, the more than likely it increases the odds being published. However, it also depends what you say in your letter that gets published as well.
Due to the volume of letters on Uncanny X-Men, my letters have yet to be printed.

I had my first letter published in Secret Defenders. Imagine my pride!! (Actually, it was a supercool moment to see my name there.) I had a few letters published in that title, a few in Avengers, one in X-Force, a couple in Cap and probably a couple of others I'm forgetting. Haven't written in a few years though.
A few times I got sent the mock-up of the letters page I had my letter printed in, with the various letters stuck in place and notes written on the sides, and once I got sent a photocopy of the pencils of a double page spread from Avengers with some colouring instructions. Has anybody else had anything like that?
10 years ago I used to send in letters to EC Comics ex.... Tales from the Crypt, Vault of Horror, and Haunt of Fear. Every month I would get my letter published. They put like 20 letters in each month. It was pretty cool. The 1st time I saw my letter in there I called like 20 people and told them I was famous.
