I have not been a fan of Tank Girl for very long. I saw the movie when it came out, and I thought it was fun. In recent years, I have been reading the minis and one-shots that have come out, and found that I really enjoy the character and the stories. I'd like to get into the earlier stuff. But I'm finding that I am getting really confused in regards to the earlier stuff.

I see that there are three Remastered trades, as well as remastered versions of The Odyssey and Apocalypse. My question is: Do these trades present the issues in their original format? I've seen a lot of people happy because these books are mostly in black and white, with occasional color "because that's how it was originally." But then I see other people complaining about the lack of color "because that's how it was originally."

What I want to know is: If I buy the trades in the Tank Girl: Remastered series, is that the best way to experience the series, the way it was intended? or, are these reprints altered in some way? If they are altered, is there another set of trades I should look for?

[I've basically read everything Tank Girl post-Apocalypse. I'd like to see what I'm missing.]

As far as I can tell the remastered versions aren't all that much different than the originals. I wouldn't worry very much about that. The original creators, Hewlett and Martin are much better than any of the artists or writers that have worked on the comic more recently, so definitely get ahold of those Graphic Novels!

Good luck! Tank Girl is one of my favorites.
