Elinore seems to be gone too. :frown:Yeah for some reason the powers that be thought the show needed to be retooled and to ditch most of Mary's personal life basically making it just another CSI Clone/wannabe.

I've enjoyed the first two episodes. Loved how they didn't force the flashback with a bunch of nods to the present storylines like Bones did.

It's what they do. There was a bit of a fuss when the change was announced shortly after last season's finale when rumors circulated that TPTB wanted to get rid of Jinx and Brandy too.

Well it does look like they are getting rid of the sister at least for a little while.

Has Mary McCormack been on the botox? She's got a major "trout-pout".

I think it would be ironic if she did since her character would probably be the last person to get botox.

I think one of the things that i don't like about them getting rid of her family is the fact that her family makes her much more relatable to everyone which doesn't always come across when she is working and it also reinforces her need to take care of everyone.

I'm wondering if she's searching for her father.

Big thumbs up to the addition of Alison Janney to the cast. Always a welcome sight in TV land.

I wonder if Mann is ever even gonna work up the nerve to tell her his true feelings?
Guy from Wings did a great job he was a prick but not tooo prickish if you know what i mean?
I'm surprised she let him down so easily.
I'm constantly curious why Mary has such issues with working with other females professionally.
Could be she wants to be the alpha female in any situation so she has to act like a bad ass.
kind of surprised that Mary and her boyfriend broke up i know i've never been that crazy about him (probably cause he is an ex baseball player-jock)but he seems like a really caring person which is probably what she needs.

Because Mary's dysfunctional. She's rather convinced herself that she doesn't deserve anything good to happen in her life so she ends up sabotaging it when she has it. Also, because of the things that have happened she rather tends to be afraid that if she opens up she's just going to get hurt so it's better stopping things before they get so deep they'll hurt even worse when they go south.
Mary is the eternal pessimist, Marshall is the eternal optimist and that's why they make such a good and fun team.
As to why she doesn't like other women -- I think it's also her wy of rebelling against "society". She sees these other women and to her they are exactly what 'society' says women should be -- even women of power. And Mary isn't that person. She's lived nearly her whole life outside the rules (which is what makes her job ironic) and having other women around reminds her constantly just how outside the rest of the box she is -- and how alienating that can feel.
BTW, I really loved the "When Mary met Marshall" ep since we finally get to see Mary take up the whole 'Marshal, Marshall Mann' joke.

She is mean to all women (that shes not directly related too) even strong powerful types like Mary.

That's odd. Usually if it was a medical issue you'd expect it to be a main cast member, not the production staff.
I hope the person is okay but darn that sucks we lose out on 3 extra episodes of the Mary and Marshall Power Hour.

I'm still a week behind, but I'm really finding this to be the strongest season.
Also, stupid question - is the actress who plays Brandy pregnant, by any chance?

I seem to have been missing a couple of episodes but last i saw Mary and the guy from Wings are having some sort of strange love/hate relationship.
Can someone tell me when it does come on? i will admit to being less interested in the show now that the focus is off the supporting cast and i also miss the Derschowitz (sorry if i misspelled that) guy,
For some reason i think i could see those two at least going on a few dates before they just decided to become Bff''s mostly cause Mary doesn't seem interested in dating someone unless there is lots of drama and sexual tension.
I also get kind of tired of every single male in the show having some insane crush on Mary, while she is attractive not every man is attracted to tough take charge women and it would be nice to see a guy who is not falling all over her in secret or even possibly be intimidated or pissed off at her.
