I gave Robinson a lot of shit over CFJ (which I still stand by), but I'm very excited to here that he has plans for Vixen down the line and is gonna use Freedom Beast's death for more than a cheap "shock moment".
The Shade mini also has me happy.

there's all kinds of fail in this article
When did africa become a country?
The new blue and gold? great idea, just lame characters.....
Donna already has a lasso....at least two in fact....
Donna and Jade room mates? fail
and this line up is just about as bad a Detroit: Dick Grayson as Batman, Supergirl, Donna Troy, Jade, Mikaal Tomas as Starman, Congorilla and Jessie Quick.
Keep Dick and Donna, get rid of the rest.....Jesse as Liberty Belle is much more fun....

They were going to get rid of every fictional city? Really?

well I like the idea of multiple JLA
JLA
JLI
JLAfrica
A JLA with the big 8?
That would be awsome.
Superman
Batman
Wonder Woman
Aquaman
Martian Manhunter
Black Canary
Flash
Green Lantern

I like the idea of a Shade mini......Despite Robinson's questionable writing in recent times, I did enjoy that Blackest Night issue of Starman, which centered around The Shade.

In all fairness, we did have Justice League Europe, so it's not particularly about countries.....Unless you read something in the article I don't know about (I didn't read it).

They said Vixen would go to Africa and take over as the "COUNTRY'S" protector.

Dick Grayson as Batman, Supergirl, Donna Troy, Jade, Mikaal Tomas as Starman, Congorilla and Jessie Quick.
THIS is the new Justice League?
Thanks DC you've managed to cut my pull list down by one more title.

Yeah, you'd think they'd at LEAST keep in Hal Jordan. As excited as I am for Vixen getting some closure, this seems like Justice League Detroit ALL OVER again....at least in that it's a writer removing the big names for him to write about his pets.

Went to Africa to take over as the country’s protector. She will even start up her own JLA, Justice League of Africa. The writer has the whole team figured out, and they will appear some time after the JSA crossover.
Hahaha in this day and age that is so funny :D

I had cancelled JLA after C4J (I was totally put off by his writing in this book - well before the death of Lian) but then put it back on my pull list because of the JSA crossover.
I'll give it til then to decide, but I just want my epicness (if that's not a word it should be) back in the title. I'm not seeing it with what he did in C4J and I'm not feeling it with this line up.

The Detroit League was great -- it had VIBE!.
Well the good news is that I only really care about one of these characters, Dick. And maybe Donna and Kara. So I don't have to worry about what Robinson writes. If he does anything to Dick it will get retconned in the Batman books. Probably the same with Donna and Kara.

Call me crazy, but I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

It's not in direct quotes, so I hope that's just the journalist's mistake. Still, oy.
I like the rest of what I saw, though. Although why a Scotsman would join the Irish Republican Army, I'd like to know. But yeah, big Scottish size-changing gorilla, that's something the Justice League needs more of.
I like the phrase "pick at the scab that is Donna Troy’s origin." That's just perfect.
Also, note that we have, essentially, substitutes for 5 of the traditional big 7 (Supergirl for Superman, Dick for Bruce, Donna for Diana, Jesse Quick for Flash, and Jade for Green Lantern). That's something worth playing with, I think.

I'm gonna guess that it's just the journalist messing up, as I also don't remember Freedom Beast ever being "the protector of Africa". I read the Animal Man trade that has his debut, and I'm not sure if he's "protecting Africa".

It works to his advantage in that except for Grayson and Supergirl, this League is largely made up of characters who are at his disposal. He most likely won't have to put up with the same sort of editorial restrictions that past JLA writers have had to deal with.

Isn't it kind of sad that they wanted to destroy all the fictional cities (except for metropolist and gotham)?

Liking both Dick and Donna, I can still say comfortably that the roster envisioned by Robinson is full of fail.

Robinson probably nixxed the idea of wiping out all the fictional cities because he feared the wrath of Geoff Johns! Half of Johns' run on FLASH was basically setting up the twin cities of Keystone/Central as places with a unique feel, Keystone was as much a character in the stories as Wally himself. I expect this to continue for Central in Barry's series.

That's like referring to Roy Harper's current injury as a flesh wound.

'Tis but a scratch!

Well, that's hardly a mistake.
country (plural countries)
1. A nation state, a political entity asserting ultimate authority over a geographical area.
Australia is both a country and a continent.
2. A former independent nation state (e.g., England or Scotland).
3. (usually preceded by “the”) A rural area, as opposed to a town or city; countryside.
I come from the country — I'd hate to live in the city now, I'm so used to the woodland and meadows.
These animals are now found only in the high country.

Well, that's hardly a mistake.
Yes, it is. That definition is in no way applicable in this context.
How so? There's plenty of rural space for Vixen to look after, so it seems perfectly fitting.

Dick Grayson is a pimp. I think he picked the roster as much on fuckability as ability.

Using the name of the continent of 'Africa' to refer only to that continent's rural spaces strikes me as even more baffling than referring to it as a country.
