That was weird. Besides the Fates. Underwhelming crossover conclusion. Some morality confirmation. Another dream episode. The whole thing? Asgardians were winning. Lester rebukes kiss. All didn't happen? Daken is Daken. That's about it. Conclusion restarted time? Someone's gotta clarify. Decent enough artwork.

"'Where can you go, Carl?' The doctor's voice reached him from a great distance. 'Out...Away...through the door'
'The Green Door, Carl?'

I'll tell you the story of Cloony the Clown
Who worked in a circus that came through town.
His shoes were too big and his hat was too small,
But he just wasn't, just wasn't funny at all.
He had a trombone to play loud silly tunes,
He had a green dog and a thousand balloons.
He was floppy and sloppy and skinny and tall,
But he just wasn't, just wasn't funny at all.
And every time he did a trick,
Everyone felt a little sick.
And every time he told a joke,
Folks sighed as if their hearts were broke.
And every time he lost a shoe,
Everyone looked awfully blue.
And every time he stood on his head,
Everyone screamed, "Go back to bed!"
And every time he made a leap,
Everybody fell asleep.
And every time he ate his tie,
Everyone began to cry.
And Cloony could not make any money
Simply because he was not funny.
One day he said, "I'll tell this town
How it feels to be an unfunny clown."
And he told them all why he looked so sad,
And he told them all why he felt so bad.
He told of Pain and Rain and Cold,
He told of Darkness in his soul,
And after he finished his tale of woe,
Did everyone cry? Oh no, no, no,
They laughed until they shook the trees
With "Hah-Hah-Hahs" and "Hee-Hee-Hees."
They laughed with howls and yowls and shrieks,
They laughed all day, they laughed all week,
They laughed until they had a fit,
They laughed until their jackets split.
The laughter spread for miles around
To every city, every town,
Over mountains, 'cross the sea,
From Saint Tropez to Mun San Nee.
And soon the whole world rang with laughter,
Lasting till forever after,
While Cloony stood in the circus tent,
With his head drooped low and his shoulders bent.
And he said,"THAT IS NOT WHAT I MEANT -
I'M FUNNY JUST BY ACCIDENT."
And while the world laughed outside.
Cloony the Clown sat down and cried.

Is this review intended to be read as haiku?

DARK WOLVERINE #84
~ Godlike: Conclusion ~
writers. Daniel Way and Majorie Liu
artist. Giuseppe Camuncoli
Brief Synopsis: Wolverine [Daken Akihiro] witnesses a second possible outcome for his actions during the Siege of Asgard, as shown to him by the Norns. Having seen his greatest desire previously (to kill Iron Patriot [Norman Osborn]); now the Norns will show him his greatest fear... but first, it's time Hawkeye [Bullseye] got what's coming to him...
~ cover: Daken on a throne in the mouth of a stone dragon [grade: A-] Cool image, and "relevant" in mentality/metaphor for what happens, rather than depicting an actual event.
~ Best Moment Award: Daken and Bullseye kissing! HA!
LOVED
1. the art, the writing, the characters, as always! AMAZING!
2. THE KISS! I've been waiting since the Prince for Daken to finally do it, and HA! Worth the wait! Dark Wolverine's homo-erotic nature never fails to entertain!
3. another perfect "Daken-esq" moment is when he DIDN'T kill the big, two-axe wielding Asgardian who wanted to die in battle. Daken's such a di*k, that's what makes him so amazing.
4. Daken's reaction when he was told to go to hell! FINALLY someone breaks his cool facade. Wonderful!
5. HAWKEYE: You talk big, you act big. But it's all an act. And everyone knows it. Everyone but you. You're a joke, Daken. You're nothing. No-one will ever follow you. Or respect you. They will not follow you because they do not know what you are. I LOVE that it was Lester to call Daken out, and basically "break him". I think it's brilliant! That this was Daken's greatest fear. To be seen for what he really is: someone who is very lost, and very "self-less" (in the "lack of self" meaning). And for it to be Bullseye who tells him this! That's the cruelest cut of all!
LIKED
1. the tear in Hawkeye's mask, revealing the Bullseye.
2. DAKEN: I've never been called a coward. I don't know if I could handle that. Interesting admission that I would never have imagined. I liked it, it made Daken seem very human (briefly).
3. DAKEN: You were very forgiving when I stuck my tongue down your-
4. that Bullseye was the one to call Daken out on his love of murder and carnage. REALLY interesting choice. It's much like Karla's confrontation with Daken. She met her match in manipulation. And here, Bullseye has actually found someone who is "too" violent for his tastes, who loves the carnage "too much". Great reversal of attitudes (as it was with Karla).
5. Osborn's troop moral boosting entrance and exit! (his blue jet stream is visually awesome too!)
6. the homage back to former moments in the comic and other comics (recreating the poses, the stance, etc)
DISLIKED
1. minor, MINOR quibble. Daken's pose on pg 9-10 seemed odd. Like his head was too far away from his right shoulder. Is it just me, or did it seem too far away?
2. BOO! This kiss didn't become cannon! Oh well. I assume that's the only reason they got to do it in the first place (because it was undone).
OVERALL
Yet another WONDERFUL issue from the cracking teams of Way, Liu and Camuncoli. This Godlike arc reminds me so much of the crossover work of Fabian Nicieza. It's relevant to the main event (in this case: Siege) BUT it tells it's own story, that moves its own comic forward. Fabian was a MASTER of this, and I think Way and Liu have produced the best Siege tie-in I've read so far. To be honest, I'm enjoying this a lot more to the actual event itself. Oh well...
~ rating: 5 out of 5 [grade: A]

In the end, Daken became the agent of Ragnorak, (for the 3 fates) and he was branded a coward by his HAMMER squad for abandoning them to slaughter by the gods. Daken had seen that even though he could save the squad, by protecting their retreat, after wards, they wouldn't follow him anyway, (as the 3 fates showed him), so why should he save them IRL? Instead, Daken left, down the sewer, and Bullseye escaped too, to leave their squad to die.
