Ah, yes. I didn't carry the 1.

Still. I mean, I look forward to this book and I've always quarterbacked X-Force, but I'd rather have the Dairy Queen discount.

EDIT: I meant the bulletholes as "pink", since they're bloody. But, it's stupid anyway, so I'm killing it.

It would be so funny if they used Nate Grey instead of Kitty. Just for the fact that it would mean they brought Kitty back right before SC starts and she still sits out the event.

Its sounds like when the Scarlet Witch returns that it might be in an X-men event.

If Kitty's phasing harms the T/O posse and their fancy machines, she can just run around in circles all crossover. Otherwise, I don't see her being important.

well , i knew it, they pratically anounced the fact that the mutants will not be ressurected in second coming.

Considering that Scarlet Witch is the cause of the current mutant mayhem, will she figure into "Second Coming?" Will she and Hope get the chance to meet face to face in this event?

Yost: No. I think there’s something coming up to deal with the Scarlet Witch firsthand, but "Second Coming" is all about Hope's homecoming right now and making sure she stays alive to do whatever it is [the X-Men] think she has to do. I think the bigger "No more mutants"/Wanda issue is going to raise its head a little later.

Kyle: To expand on that, ever since we joined the books, or at least started telling an ongoing series with X-Men, the mutants have had their backs up against the wall, their numbers have been the lowest they’ve ever been, and, you know, they've been fighting off death – and us – ever since we’ve been writing them. And this is it. Come hell or high water, this war is going to be settled. The forces that are up against them are the worst they've ever faced, and the numbers they have are the fewest they've ever had. This is the turning point. That's the fight, and that's the saga we’re finishing up here. I think it’s going to be a story people are going to be very excited to read. Everyone's brought their best to this.

Yost: Yeah, the Scarlet Witch thing – the "no more mutants"/fate of mutantkind – it weighs heavily on every page of this. I mean, Hope's existence is almost a reaction to what the Scarlet Witch did. It definitely is part of her story, but right now, this is the homecoming story.

Love their X positions as usual, but its upsetting that they got Rahne knocked up and then are dropping her like a hot potato where I doubt anyone will be wanting to pick her up anytime soon, as PAD's roster seem's full so I guess I just have to hope Well's will pick her up. I really wish she hadn't gotten more screen time and development than she did....because, that wasn't much.

I have a question for Craig and Kyle: Why are all of Marvel's Cartoons written like their target audience are lobotomized children? Iron Man Armored Adventures is TERRIBLE, Wolverine and the X-Men is boring and toothless (Wolverine isn't allowed to really use his claws), and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes LOOKS EVEN MORE RETARDED than the previous two cartoons?

DC pwns Marvel in the Animated Universe department.

Well, I guess this question is for me twice since you used my first and last name separately...

Look, I'm a big fan of DC animation. Love it. Not all of it but most things Bruce Timm does I buy and LOVE. He's amazing. Huge. Fan.

As for our shows, I'm proud of them. Wolverine and the X-Men is an awesome show, as is Iron Man. BUT these shows are for kids first, families second and long time comic fans, like us, third. These shows exist to help kids enter and embrace the stories of these wonderful characters for the very first time. Some day they will grow up, like you, and bitch about the shows that are made for the kids in the future... that's the cycle of things. And that's great. It means we did our job. The characters became yours over time and now you're the expert on how and what the characters should be to be correct.

And for the hardcore fans we make Direct-To-DVD's like Hulk VS, Planet Hulk, Doctor Strange, Ultimate Avengers and so on. So, if you don't like the Saturday Morning stuff, watch the DVD's, if you don't like those, watch the live-action movies, if you don't like those, read the comics, if you don't like those, play the video games, and if you don't like those go to DC. Because at that point you may not be a Marvel fan, which is okay too.

We do our best everyday to entertain our fans but not everything we do is for every fan. It never can be.

Hope this helps.

Best,

I have a question for Kyle and Yost as well. With all the hints being dropped about Hope being connected to the Phoenix Force (the emblem in her eyes showing up twice being quite telling), what are the chances that connection stems to Jean Grey as well? Aren't Jean and the Phoenix one in the same? It sounds like it would be difficult to mention one without the other.

BTW, great work on Necrosha and the first issue of Second Coming! Great work on Wolverine and the X-men too! I don't care what that last poster said. Wolverine and the X-men is the best X-men series I've ever seen! I'm not afraid to say it actually surpasses the original animated series. Keep up the great work you two! Looking forward to Avengers and season two of Wolverine and the X-men. Pound for pound, you two are the best X-men writers in the biz.

I really wish she hadn't gotten more screen time and development than she did....because, that wasn't much.

Hopefully, she can make a guest appearance in X-Factor to wrap up loose ends. Then Zeb Wells can bring her over to New Mutants and the baby story won't be entirely abandoned.

But ultimately, I think her leaving X-Force is the right decision. She's not a good fit for that team, and staying would mean giving up a lot of who she is. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the book now that half the team has officially quit. I'm looking forward to picking up my copy tomorrow, and to future issues. I've had my issues with the series on occasion (primarily the handling of Rahne), but overall I have to say I'm pleased with the book. It'll be sad to see Kyle and Yost leave.

cy&ck is still writing x-force #26-28.

so that's 3 more issues.

i don't know who'll be wrting issue #29 and so on.

but i prefer they end the book after maybe 2 more issues after second coming.

but ending the book at #28 is fine to me since it's the last book (chapter 13 of second coming) before second coming #2 (chapter 14 of the arc) finale.

To janissa... if you want to know Kyle & Yost's true feelings about Logan stabbing people in cartoons, and getting to use his claws? Watch Hulk vs. Wolverine on DVD with the commentary by the both of them. The way they beam with pride over managing to have Lady Deathstrike lose multiple limbs, should give you the idea they don't want to hold back... but the target audience of whatever program they're making has to come into play.

Rahne is pregnant with a god/monster/demon/babything. Not only that but she's recieved enough of a power boost to where she won't have to play the helpless pregnant lady.

I don't care if she goes into characer limbo, this is the first time I've been interested in her character.

I'm more than a bit dissapointed about dropping the Rahne plot. To muck up the character so much, lock her in a book where she's not needed or wanted, not have her listed as a member of the team, use her as a plot device where a bag of frozen peas could've done as good a job, and then leave her brain-washed, superpowered and pregnant. What writer is going to pick this storyline up?? What about the angel wings thing? Is that gone? Or is she just going to start freaking out everytime she sees a bird? Very uncool to just drop all this.

it wasnt a machete it was a soul dagger or something like that. The dagger i think he got from the Demon Bear way back in issue 9 or 10.
Eli Bard used it to get James's people.

From what I understand, it seems to be gone. The Cuckoos were deprogramming her for a while off-panel, while the rest of the team was off catching Vanisher/killing the Right/ect.

My feelings on her inclusion in the book have kind of flip-flopped lately. The Asgardian upgrade from the pregnancy is a neat concept, but you nailed the primary concern I think a lot of Rahne fans are having. Unless someone besides Fraction picks her up, she's going to be abandoned in character limbo with no resolution. Sincerely hoping that Zeb Wells is up to the task of picking her up, since the New Mutants is probably the ideal place for her. Decent sized, balanced cast and a group of characters that she trusts and cares for as her family. Plus, Warlock would be the best babysitter ever.

jarrod
04-01-2010, 02:09 PM
Zeb wanted her from the start. For furry fans, I'd say the worry isn't "will Rahne go to NM?", it's more "will NM avoid cancelation?".

People care about Rahne its nice to see
I was kinda shocked at how she was treated under C&C's pen but at least it didn't get to the point that she died.
Im still scratching my head about her monster baby that shes about to give birth to.

I know, I know. She doesn't have nearly the fanbase of the wonderful Mortis, who has earned her own upcoming mini.

I am glad that you have made peace with this irrevocable reality.

Don't you think it's likely she'll wind up in New Mutants?

For Rahne, I certianly hope so and I have my fingers crossed for it. I don't see why not, but I sent a question for Well's next week...hopefully it will get answered.

I mostly lurk here....but Haro, I really love reading your posts. Just tho ught I'd get that out of the way first. :) And I agree with everything you've said. Having her appear in X factor again, even if it is only for a few issues, would be awesome. Especially with Shatterstar around now (though I have to wonder if he'd ever have joined X factor had Rahne not left). I agree that X fo rce wasn't a fit for her, but I would have liked to see more of how she reacted to it all instead of being on the sidelines that was dragged out for fifteen issues.

PAD had her giving Rictor pity sex, it's not exactly like he was doing wonders with her character either.

Besides...it's Rahne, who gives a shit.

I actually enjoyed what PAD was doing with Rahne, and while I like the turn of events mostly with Rahne in X Force it seemed she could of stayed in X Factor for it as well. And I give a shit :P

Wow its impossible to reply to everyone's replies that were spurred from my comment here, haha. I so rarely post I didn't expect it....but I basically agree with what all the Rahne fans have said. I hope she gets picked up by someone thats not fraction and her story continues.

I loved X-Force, but I hope the whole Wolfsbane pregnancy thing gets retconned as soon as possible, or just straight up ignored in other books. It would be good to see her return to X-Factor or NM, even if its just for a few issues. But she's gone from one my favorite characters to one of the worst.

As as for Wolverine and the X-Men, Craig Kyle makes a good point. Some things are different from the comic stories we know and love and it can be annoying sometimes, but I still love the shows as long as they are entertaining. I'd rather have any X-Men animated show than none. I myself was first introduced to the X-Men in the 90s animated show and I'm sure newer fans are seeing X-Men for the first time in Wolverine and the X-Men. Keep up the good work

Wow, thank you.

From what I remember, PAD said that the decision to bring in Shatterstar came from Rahne having left. So he managed to bring some good out of losing the character, but it does feel sort of like there's a lot of unresolved things between Rahne and the X-Factor cast. (Plus, maybe she can claim that iPhone!)

Yeah, I think Rahne's role in X-Factor was understated, but definitely felt. She was the emotional center of the group, helping and supporting the others. You definitely sense a void once she left the team, and PAD said that was what influenced him to bring Longshot onto the team. Without Rahne, the team had lost a sense of innocence and hope.

So... any word on Domino catching a case of the syph from Vanisher?

Best dangling (and possibly inflamed) plot thread ever!
