Didn't it take Rogue 28 years to learn how to use her power? Why is she teaching anyone?

She's a success story. Never give up trying to control those powers.

There was a lot of discussion in the Legacy thread about how old Rogue actually was. The 23 year olds seemed to reach a consensus that she was 23.

You misinterpret the statement. What he is saying is it took from when Rogue was first introduced in 1981 until 2009 for Rogue to gain control of her powers.(Stupid editors! )

Gunna give it Emma Frost.

You can't distance yourself from your students to protect yourself from getting hurt.

well, not really, I was just using it as an opportunity to mock folks that enjoy posting about how old the X Men are.

Shouldn't that be an argument about Prof X being bad? Truth is, 'learning to control powers' pretty much doesn't happen in the X-men, regardless of who's teaching.

Simple: Best teacher for kids is to sit them down in front of a huge Mother Humping HD Flatscreen that makes I-Max look like the poor cousin.

Then hook the little brats up and let them play Team Fortress 2. Let's face it, they probably would learn much more about teamwork playing Team Fortress 2. Then load Portal and watch the Mutie kiddies go insane trying to get the character out of the starting room.

Yes, but Rogue is the single most glaring educational failure in the entire history of the school (close second is Jean Grey who also has a problem controlling herself). She hasn't even learned to mask her accent, for God's sake! Xavier would never, ever, have put Rogue in a teaching role especially after she ruined the last team she led. I thought Cyclops said no second chances?

It was just a thought I had on my way out of the office. I didn't post a poll since the only person who would vote for an option that, no, Anna isn't the worst person to teach the new students is obviously only here to troll.

Asking Rogue to teach kids how to use their powers is like asking Iceman to show Boy Scouts how to light a fire (would the Boy Scouts even let Iceman take kids out?).

Asking Rogue to teach kids how to use their powers is like asking Beast or Nightcrawler to teach them how to tie knots.

I just think it's that no one else cares about the kids and Rogue being from the South is just being polite.

I think sticking to only one teacher will cause problems later on. Rogue teaching the youngins' is just naff.

Since Domino is stalking the X-Men, they should put her in charge of physical combat training, Fantomex can at least attempt to teach the students to dodge bullets or, you know, use cover. Emma could teach the kiddes some mental blockers and tips for resisting a telepathic attack.

There's the old saying, "Those who really can't do... teach."

That may be the reason she's perfect for the gig.

Gambit seemed almost completely disinterested in his students. And he had a lobotomy so he wouldn't even have to learn how to control his powers. He and Rahne should be tied for worst teachers ever. At least Rogue means well.

Cyclops still can't use his powers properly after 47 years. Are you really surprised he gave her the job?

Why do you guys solely blame Rogue for taking so long?It took both the cleansing by Hope AND Xavier removing the mental blocks for her to finally gain control. Also it is implied to me that what the teens are going through is the same thing Rogue is going through at the present.(Even though she's 10 years behind everyone else.)Therefore I think it makes Rogue much more empathetic towards the teens than a person not in Rogue's unique situation.
