I saw people hating on him in another thread, but I like him. He's an interesting character. I also have a nostalgic appreciation of Maximum Carnage. Sure there were some goofy moments, but it had more great moments. It's also the first trade I ever got.

I was reading ASM during his first appearances, and he seemed like the logical extension of Venom, whom they were grooming to be a hero if sorts at that time.

His first few app's were great, and some writers did some interesting stuff with Cassidy as a character. Of course, Marvel didn't know how to sit on a good thing, so they shoved him down our throats. I'm waiting for someone to bring him back in an interesting way.

He could kill Sentry?

I appreciate that he's dead, and won't be infecting my comics with his one dimensional presence anytime soon.

i have the tradepaperback from Maximum Carnage too. It's a fun read imo and so is Carnage, but it seems his character is really one dimensional and there isn't much they can do with him. He kills just for fun and so is maximum carnage in a way the only story plot for him.

I strongly agree. Nothing writers can develop because he's a derranged psychopath that loves to kill. That's it. It's like he's another Jaws.

Never was a fan of Carnage.
Always looked like a way too one dimensional villain.

Always prefered to read Venom stories.
And i can see why Carnage have not been in the stories with Venom and Anti-Venom apearing in the stories as well.

Ever since I saw him in the PS1 game I thought he was nothing more than a one dimensional cancer in the world of Spider-Man, what a ridiculous rivolting character, always a pleasure kicking his arse. My biggest pleasure was watching him ripped in halves in space

Then I read "Maximum Carnage" part 1 & part 14 which are written by "Tom Defalco", he really made me appreciate a character I loathe

Later I read Amazing Spider-Man Annual #28, his is a very good story

Afterwords I read his first story, the more I read of him the more I enjoyed him

There's not much depth to Carnage, but that doesn't stop him from being a fun character. I also really liked it when they showed us his childhood and we found out that he used to take powertools to small animals and was responsible for the deaths of his parents. No tragic past here my friend, just a good old fashioned monster.

You're probably right, but I keep thinking of characters like Hannibal Lecture and Dexter and think...serial killers can be interesting.

He was more or less the symbiote version of the Joker.

I don't know if I had any major problems with him, he was a pretty good threat for Spider-Man throughout the years and I thought his dynamic with Venom was always interesting. Hell, I thought his usage in New Avengers was pretty damn awesome and creepy before he was killed.

If one were to bring him back I think it would be best if he was used either in a big symbiote story again or to a extremely limited capacity. It's a shame that nobody's using Toxin though, while his design isn't exactly great I thought his character was pretty interesting, not all too different from The Hood actually.
