Betty seemed to hate Bruce, and acted like he should have known she was alive. I forgot, but wasn't Hulk, the one sent into space, acting seperate from Bruce at the time, like a totally distinct and seperate personality. That Bruce couldn't control "himself", and that the Hulk wanted Banner gone, that Bruce wasn't even there, mentally I mean. In the preview she was very harsh towards him, but for years she was dead. In the subsequant years it seemed under Jones and Pak, that Bruce really "died" when Betty did, and other aspects of his multiple personalites tended to dominate. I know I am wrong, but could some one please help me catch up to speed, as it seems so many great couples in the MU are are falling apart.

I always asumed in planet Hulk, that Bruce was very much aware of everything, but thats one of the twist you always have to deal with concerning the Hulk because you can speculate all you want but unless its spelled out for you, ya never know.

I thought that too. I figured he finally just let Hulk take over.

Bruce and the Hulk were at odds with one another through a good part of Planet Hulk. There was the one issue where we see Bruce and the Hulk having it out in Bruce's mindscape with him momentarily regaining control (and Miek seeing him in his human form for the first time). But the Hulk quickly took control back and suppressed Bruce for a few issues more.
But eventually Bruce and Hulk started to get on the same page and both sides of him fell in love with Caiera. When she died in the explosion they were completely on the same page after that. And while the Hulk spearheaded WWH, Bruce was every bit onboard with his actions.

Really it seems like Betty knows only half the story and, strangely, isn't willing to give Bruce the time to explain the other half--that he didn't choose to be exiled off-world, that he honestly believed Betty was dead and in his mind had every right to move on, that it was more the Hulk's call than Bruce's, take your pick of any or all of the above. This is NOT about reality--it's about how it LOOKS to Betty.
A Betty, admittedly, who has never been all that psychologically stable to begin with, who just may turn out to be the Red She-Hulk.
