Green Lantern Board: Brainstorm Thread

Hello Everybody!

With the recent success of Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps under Johns & Tomasi over the past half decade GL has grown from a few books to a franchise.

There is going to be another ongoing starting up soon, and another DCU weekly carrying the story over from Blackest Night. Speaking of Blackest Night it is one of DC's highest selling books, and has gained a lot of new DC fans. Yet there still isn't a Green Lantern Board at CBR, one of the largest online comic communities.

This thread is to act as one giant brainstorm. Here we can express our feeling to having a GL Board, and we can theorize what threads we would create in the GL Board.

Take Wonder Woman for example. Many were worried, myself included, that she wouldn't be able to hold her own board. But look at it now. There is not shortage of threads there. No offensive to Wonder Woman fans, I love the books/Diana myself, but GL is more popular. If Wonder Woman can do it, so can Green Lantern.
May this be start of something great!

I'm a huge GL fan, too. But there are already other forums you can go to, one of which is GL-centric: http://www.thegreenlanterncorps.com/forum/index.php. The other is Comic Bloc where Geoff Johns tends to hang.

One thread I would love to have here with fellow CBR-ers is a serious debate of the validity of Hal as a character since Rebirth. I believe we have seen real change in the character. Johns was able to change him without retconning too much. It would be fun to analyze the type of character he is, what roles he palys, and how both have changed over the decades. :smile:

True there are other, but I like it here. I've gotten to know a lot of people over the year and CBR is the forum I chose when I wanted to sign up for one. I would rather talk where I am comfortable, and with friends than somewhere else.

Theres a lot of interest in Green Lantern as I posted on the DCU board. Its silly to say this Franchise which will now have 3 monthly books and a spinoff mini-series event called Brightest Day , plus movie ....can't support a forum.

Theres a lot of topics you could post in a GL thread. A ton.....you have 40 years of history , various Earth GL's and aliens as well. So yes...it should have its own forum now. Times have changed CBR.

I vote they rename the one forum Green Lantern/DC Universe.

Thread locked at request of DC Board mod--where it was already deleted once before.

Normally, everything goes topic-wise here.

But this is about petitioning for a change in another CBR forum and, in general, it's not really good form to hop forum to post something that a mod from the other forum deleted already.

In other words, don't bring issues/complaints from one board over to YABS. It never ends well.
