I mean, if his intelligence continues to evolve, he should eventually outgrow his Oedipus Complex and need to destroy.
I think Millar or someone introduced the idea of a reformed Ultron.

In current continuity, no. It is something I could see happening in a story set in the future.

Ultron 12 was a not-evil robot that sacrificed itself to save Pym.
But much like in the original story, much like in Young Avengers, you get a good version of a character with multiple versions, you're going to have the evil version chasing them down at some point.

No. I don't care if he is an evolved, kinder, gentler Ultron. No. Let him go join the X-Men.

Maybe Jocasta can give him a virus and hack into his system when they both eventually have sex in the last couple Mighty Avengers issues.

it could happen. but he'd have to kill Pym, first.

As others have noted, Mark 12 reformed. He could have joined the Avengers had he not sacrificed himself. If Millar is playing with the same concept, it's not new (not that that makes it bad; I try not to read Millar's stuff, so I'm not making a judgment).

I hope not. Removing Ultron would take away possibly the Avengers greatest villain. We don't really need more reformed villains out there. Enough of that goes on in the x-universe.
I liked the Mark 12 story but its not something i'd want to see as a permanent change.

If it's the hot chick Ultron and take away her genocidal tendencies...then maybe I'd buy it. She should probably smack Jocasta around though first thing to show her who is boss.

No, sexual tension between him and Pym would be unbearable

It would seem pretty analagous to Danger joining the X-Men.

i think he should be written as a comically rebellious teenager. but way over the top. like he'd constantly be saying, "Get off my back old man! I don't want your life!" before slamming the door to his infinite mansion room and turning his music up really loud. and he needs a leather jacket and Edward Furlong's voice.

Well, Ultron slaughtered an entire country. Hawkeye just attacked Ironman with a bow and arrow. There's a little bit of a difference.
As someone else mentioned, Ultron Mark 12 wasn't evil. He evoled into something better.
So I think it's a possible we could see a good Ultron, that could eventually become an Avenger. I don't think it'll ever happen, because it would cost us a perfectly good villain (and one can argue too many are already becoming goodguys).

I meant that at least Ultron is potentially interesting.

Could Ultron ever become an Avenger? Yes he could. If Ultron 12 could be a good Ultron, then maybe the number 24 could as well.

If Ultron 5 did not reform there is no hope.

It would be funny to see Ultron wearing one of those brown Avengers bomber jackets from the early '90s.

Previously someone has suggested a "white Vision" return, in a former Ultron body. I like that idea, we get back old-school Vision with a new school-twist... AND it is a different direction (meaning we don't "have to" revisit the Scarlet Witch issues). Kudos to whoever suggested that before!

I really don't see the argument that he can't be an Avenger because he's too great of a villain, that's Ultron's deal, he's a FREAKING ROBOT one version can be an Avenger while another version tries to kill him and the rest of the Avengers while yet another version just decides to work at the local Dairy Queen, there are no limits needed. The whole argument that villains shouldn't reform because then we "lose" good villains is weak, i'd much rather read about a once villainous characters road to redeption (whether they make it or fail) than just another cookie cutter story of them as the villain of the month
