I'm interested to see who they get to voice Ollie. The casting in the DC animated films is usually pretty damn good.

I hope they use whoever did his voice in JLU.

This is awesome. I remember Bruce Timm saying that Green Arrow was one of the characters he would like to do an animated feature of, if he could chose anyone he wanted (as opposed to the studio just telling him to make a Superman movie, or whatever).

Frankly, I would like it if they gave chance to new-blood. I think it's best not have one voice actor voice a character for too long a time. Look at Kevin Conroy and Batman, Conroy has voiced the character for 10 years or so and some fans can't accept an Animated Batman if Conroy isn't voicing and frankly, I'm glad they got someone else for B:tBatB, NF and UtH. I'm sure there are other voice actors out there who could do a better job than the so-called 'iconic' voice actors.

Ten minutes long? :evilangry:
I can get a better GA fix from JLU. Ollie deserves his own 90 minute feature. If they are so worried about him being 2nd tier and not selling enough DVD's then by all means, recreate some things from HTH which would have no trouble selling thousands upon thousands of copies, just like the trades have after eight reprints.
To quote Shakespeare, "I do bite my thumb, sir."

To be fair, the Batman: Gotham Knight was made up of stories that were only about 10 to 15 minutes in length and they were pretty good. Even my friend who is a HARD CORE B:TAS purist really enjoyed the DVD.
But I agree that Ollie needs his own animated feature all to himself. But hey, maybe if these prove popular he'll get one.
Or better yet, a DC Animated DVD feature that kind of updates but basically still tells the "Green Lanter/Green Arrow: Hard Traveling Heroes" arc. That would be cool.

Kin Shriner. And he did a great job. And that's not just because I had huge crush on him when he was Scotty Baldwin on General Hospital.

As long as they throw in the junkie Roy scene, I'm in.

I know this was a big, serious story and one of the early examples of comics being "Relevant" and such...but Green Arrow's expression on this cover does just make me crack up. I can't help it:redface::biggrin:
Also just to point out: Hal Jordan? TOTAL DICK.
Seriously, his supposed friend...the guy he's been travelling around America with, who's saved his life more than once...has just learned that his adopted ward is on drugs
And he's stood there, looking as smug as possible and trying to score points.

That's mainly because Contoy does a great job as Batman,
And i like BRave and the bold, but i keep thinking it's Hoss Delgado under the mask.

Typo Lad living up to his name :P
But seriusly, making a PG13 "Snowbirds" movie would be weird today.
and I don't even think they could do it unless it got an R. Didn't they have to remove the Alcohol stuff from Iron-Man 2 because of the ban on topics like that in PG13 movies?

Have you read the actual story?
Hal is not the one that tells Ollie about Roy's drug addiction. Ollie just stumbles upon Roy injecting himself and throws him out in a fit of rage. Hal is the one that find Roy out on the street, helps him up and takes him to Dinah's house where he recovers. Ollie later feels bad about what he did when he and Roy later meet up. Roy leaves to carve out his own destiny.
Thing was Hal was a lot more likable during the old days, he wasn't exactly the person to give you advice or anything but when you are in trouble he is the type that picks you up when you are down. It's what makes Geoff's 'man-crush' take on Hal so frustrating because, as a wise buddy of mine put it, 'Hal should be the 'Captain Kirk' of the DCU'.

I know B:tBatB is Batman: The Brave and the Bold, NF is New Frontiers, but what is UtH?

Yeah...as Venom pointed out I was KIDDING.
And I wasn't talking about the story, just the cover. I was making a joke about the way Hal, on the cover is all "Okay Ollie, your so smart...deal with THIS!" while Speedy sits there, halfway through shooting up and Ollie has the best "OMG" face ever

Yes and yes--someone leaked the short if you want to get a better example of what they might do with GA: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/animated_features/news/?a=14840

Hmmm....Well, on the one hand, some of the dialog sounds like it's trying a bit too hard to be Raymond Chandler or Dashiell Hammett -- and frankly, only Chandler and Hammett could be Chandler and Hammett and when others try it just seems.... really corny. Also, I'm not certain how I feel about giving the story a definite 1970's era look. I like that I feel they really caught the LOOK of the era and it contrasts nicely with Corrigan. The look they gave Corrigan is both timeless and yet old fashioned at the same time -- which gives a bit of a hint to his nature.
In regards to the story.... Wow. Creepy as hell. some little tributes to other horror films in there but done in a different way to add some uniqueness to it as well -- it makes them true 'tributes' instead of rip-offs.
Also, despite both the cheese and the echo of Creepshow to it, I honestly LIKE the opening in a comic book shop, complete with spinner rack, and then using the old 'go-go checks' from the DC Comics covers of the 1960's. It's a really nice tribute to the past.
Gary Cole's voice, though... I'm torn. I find it a bit uneven. He's actually got more 'oomph' to it when he's doing the Spectre's lines. When he's voicing Corrigan it seems a little flat.
With only one story to go by though the good far outweighs the bad for me. I really like the look of this and I think it captures the spirit of some of the best of the old Spectre stories.
