I got it signed by the lead animator, and the score composer @ the Virgin Megastore on Sunset. They said, at first, that Brad Bird was going to be there, but he had to do something in San Francisco, so no Bird for me!

Oh. . it also includes a free ticket to see the remake that opens 4/15 -- so really, I only paid like, $20 for it :)

Eating my heart out here in the U.S.…
Just finished watching the movie (director's cut; has Kong eating people & undressing Fay Wray! - scenes cut out when the movie was re-released) & documentary. All very entertaining. Can't see Jackson doing too much with the framework, just polishing the effects & dialogue. And, as we've seen from the trailer for the new movie, (http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/king_kong/large.html) the legendary giant insects scene (removed from original movie as is detracted too much attention away from Kong) has been put into this version.

Yes, the trailer makes the newest remake look very appealing. I doubt it'll replace the original in my heart, but I can't wait for December.
By the way, the uncut version of the 1933 version has been available on VHS in the U.S. since at least 1993. My copy is definitely showing signs of wear.
